The 5-4-3 Double Play | Stacks, Matchups, and Value Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings | April 5

Sunday brings some interesting matchups and some teams in really good spots…but are those the ones you want to attack?  Let’s figure it out.  The focus of this article is to sort through the myriad of options on larger slates and find not only some solid foundational plays but also some spots that could go overlooked.  We focus on stacks that are solid for small-field and SE as well as overlooked spots for large-field GPPs, and we discuss players that have good past history vs. the pitchers they’re facing.  Our Discord strategy rooms are incredibly active. FIVE DFS MLB Stacks
Los Ángeles Dodgers
The Dodger offense facing a pitcher who’s made eight career appearances while allowing eight earned runs in just 13 innings?  Hard to avoid, but I don’t think you need to.  Foster Griffin takes the mound for Washington today as the Dodgers look for the sweep.  One of those times where you need to decide to be overweight or underweight. Aside from the usual suspects, Andy Pages is playing very well early on.

Seattle Mariners
We see the same setup here with Seattle that we do with the Dodgers, but the matchup may be a bit more advantageous here: Ryan Johnson has allowed 18 earned runs in 18 career innings (with six of those coming in the first start of the year against the Cubs…in just 3.1 innings).  Cole Young, Brendan Donovan, and Luke Raley are the ones carrying the offense to start the season, so be sure to have healthy exposure to them in addition to the heavy hitters.

Athletics
I like the Athletics’ offense in general this season even if it’s taking a bit for them to get going (aside from Shea Langeliers, that is).  In a hitters’ part against Lance McCullers who is still trying to figure out things after missing most of the last two seasons, I’ll be overweight here.  Game total is 10 (and even though the Astros are favored, I don’t mind).

Houston Astros
As mentioned above, this is a high-total game that is attractive DFS-wise, and it’s actually the Astros who are playing better to start the season; they’ve been one of the hottest offenses in the league early on in 2026.  Jacob Lopez had an awful first start and I don’t see things getting much different here, so I’ll definitely have shares of Yordan Alvarez, Jose Altuve, and Jeremy Pena; Jake Meyers is a sneaky piece to add into the mix as well.

Washington Nationals
If you want a low-owned tournament stack, you could do worse than the Nationals who somehow have scored the third-most runs in all of baseball coming into today.  They’ve managed to put up six and five runs against these Dodgers over the past two days respectively, and today they get Roki Sasaki, who is talented to be sure, but Washington has been adept at grinding out runs.  CJ Abrams and Chase DeLauter are where I’m starting here.
