Main MLB Slate Player Projections and Stacks:

Tampa Bay Rays (+105) @ Cleveland Guardians (-122)

Rays – 2.7 IRT

Guardians – 2.9 IRT

Rundown:

We’ll kick this day of postseason baseball off with the lowest implied total on the slate where both teams are implied to score under three runs. The Rays will send Shane McClanahan to the mound and is a guy I’m going to have a ton of interest in at his price tag on both sites. He didn’t finish the year very strong which may be something to do with the miles on his arm this season, but he still has an elite 30.3% strikeout rate on the season and this Guardians lineup does not scare me. The Guardians will send Shane Bieber to the mound and is a guy who looks like a great option on this slate as well. He’s averaging 21.7 DraftKings points in two starts against the Rays this season and has a 25% strikeout rate on the season.

TBR 5-star plays: None

4-star plays: Wander Franco, Randy Arozarena, David Peralta

GPP Note: The Rays have the lowest implied total on the slate and are not a team I love here.

CLE 5-star plays: Jose Ramirez

4-star plays: Steven Kwan, Andres Gimenez

GPP Note: I like the Guardians as a mini-stack to get some leverage on McClanahan in case he continues to struggle.

Philadelphia Phillies (-104) @ St. Louis Cardinals (-112)

Implied Run Totals:

Phillies – 3.3 IRT

Cardinals – 3.4 IRT

Rundown:

The Phillies will send Zack Wheeler to the mound to kick off their postseason series with the Cardinals. Wheeler is coming off of his best start in quite some time and got his pitch count up to 77, I would expect he’s not really limited going forward. I don’t expect they push him to 120 pitches by any means, but I think if he’s pitching well they’ll let him ride. He has a 26.9% strikeout rate on the season and is averaging 46 FanDuel points per start in two games against the Cards this season. Speaking of the Cardinals, they’ll start Jose Quintana here. Quintana is pretty easily the “worst” pitcher on the slate, but he’s pitched very well this season with a 2.93 ERA and shouldn’t be taken lightly. That being said, I do like the Phillies here and think they can steal game 1.

PHI 5-star plays: Rhys Hoskins, Bryce Harper, Kyle Schwarber

4-star plays: JT Realmuto, Nick Castellanos, Bryson Stott

GPP Note: I like the Phillies quite a bit here relative to the other offenses on this slate.

STL 5-star plays: Paul Goldschmidt, Nolan Arenado

4-star plays: Lars Nootbaar, Brendan Donovan

GPP Note: The Cardinals have a lot of good value along with Goldy and Arenado, so they’re interesting, to say the least.

Seattle Mariners (+116) @ Toronto Blue Jays (-136)

Implied Run Totals:

Mariners – 3.4 IRT

Blue Jays – 3.8 IRT

Rundown:

Luis Castillo will start for the Mariners in a tough matchup with this Jays team on the road in a hitter’s park. He bounced back nicely last time out against Oakland after struggling over his previous starts. He owns a 27.2% strikeout rate on the season and scored 15.3 DraftKings points against the Jays earlier this season. I think I would have more interest in him if this game were in Seattle rather than Toronto. Speaking of the Blue Jays, they’ll send their ace to the mound in Alek Manoah. He’s right there with McClanahan in having a great price tag, although he doesn’t have the same type of strikeout upside with just a 22.9% strikeout rate on the season. That being said, he does have at least 23.1 DraftKings points in three of his last four games and will be a nice option here regardless, his floor probably isn’t as low as McClanahan’s either.

SEA 5-star plays: Julio Rodriguez

4-star plays: Mitch Haniger, Jarred Kelenic (value), Eugenio Suarez

GPP Note: I would have no issue with the Mariners here, I like the ballpark.

TOR 5-star plays: Bo Bichette, George Springer

4-star plays: Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Matt Chapman

GPP Note: Same deal as the Mariners, I like the ballpark so these guys will be in play.

Watching the weather is half the battle when it comes to MLB DFS. The DFS Army Weather Station has you covered, from games that have delay and postponement potential, to games that could have significant winds that will play a roll in selecting a team to stack or a pitcher to use.

San Diego Padres (+132) @ New York Mets (-155)

Implied Run Totals:

Padres – 2.8 IRT

Mets – 3.4 IRT

Rundown:

We’ll round out the slate with Yu Darvish starting for the Padres in a tough matchup against the Mets. Darvish is averaging 52 FanDuel points per game in two starts against the Mets on the season and has a 25.6% strikeout rate on the season. I don’t love the matchup but he’s obviously still in play for tournaments at the very least. Then the Mets will send one of their aces to the mound with Max Scherzer. He is the most expensive pitcher on DraftKings and right behind Manoah on FanDuel. He has the highest strikeout rate on the slate at 30.6% and will be a guy I get a bunch of on both sites due to that floor/ceiling combination.

SDP 5-star plays: Juan Soto

4-star plays: Manny Machado, Jake Cronenworth, Brandon Drury

GPP Note: I don’t really want to stack against Scherzer.

NYM 5-star plays: Francisco Lindor

4-star plays: Pete Alonso, Dan Vogelbach (value), Jeff McNeil

GPP Note: The Mets will look solid here.
