Main MLB Slate Player Projections and Stacks:
Los Angeles Angels (-105) @ Baltimore Orioles (-114)
Implied Run Totals:
Rundown:
We’ll open up the day with Chase Silseth heading into Baltimore to take on an Orioles team I really liked yesterday. I like going right back to the Orioles in this one as a stacking option, I don’t think Silseth is all that good… but man this ballpark is playing so much different than in years prior since they moved that left-field wall back. Jordan Lyles will start for the Orioles and won’t be a guy I want to get to here either, he’s always a guy I like stacking against due to his ability to give up the long ball. His HR/9 has come down a bit this season to 1.17, but his command is still all over the place. I just wish this Angels lineup was better.
LAA 5-star plays: Mike Trout, Shohei Ohtani
4-star plays: Jonathan Villar, Taylor Ward
GPP Note: The Angels look good in all formats here as a stack against Lyles.
BAL 5-star plays: Cedric Mullins
4-star plays: Trey Mancini, Ryan Mountcastle, Adley Rutschman, Anthony Santander
GPP Note: I like going right back to the Orioles in this one as a stacking option as well.
Pittsburgh Pirates (-) @ Cincinnati Reds (-)
Implied Run Totals:
Rundown:
Bryse Wilson will get the start for the Pirates in a major ballpark downgrade. He goes from a big pitcher’s park in Pittsburgh to Great American Smallpark in this one and due to that, he won’t be a guy I have much interest in with his 7.49 ERA on the season. It seems like we’re still waiting on the Reds to confirm a starting pitcher, as I’ve seen three different options already this morning between Mike Minor, Luis Cessa, and Robert Dugger… I think the only guy I would have interest in is Minor, but let’s keep an eye on who they send out there in this one. The matchup is good, but i just hate playing pitching in this ballpark.
PIT 5-star plays: Bryan Reynolds, Oneil Cruz
4-star plays: Ke’Bryan Hayes
GPP Note: The Pirates would be more of a mini-stack team for me.
CIN 5-star plays: Jonathan India, Brandon Drury
4-star plays: Tommy Pham, Joey Votto, Tyler Naquin
GPP Note: I like the Reds stack more than the Pirates just due to the firepower in the lineup.
Miami Marlins (+141) @ New York Mets (-166)
Implied Run Totals:
Rundown:
Daniel Castano will get the start for the Marlins here in a tough matchup on the road against the Mets. I don’t like targeting pitchers who don’t have strikeout upside and Castano has just a 13.5% strikeout rate on the season, so he will not make my pitcher pool in this one. The Mets will send Trevor Williams to the mound in a nice matchup with this Marlins offense. He hasn’t been in great form but does have a 21.4% strikeout rate on the season, so I could see making a case for him as an SP2 option in tournaments.
MIA 5-star plays: None
4-star plays: Jon Berti, Garrett Cooper, Jesus Sanchez
GPP Note: Just one-offs and mini-stacks from the Marlins for me.
NYM 5-star plays: Starling Marte, Francisco Lindor, Pete Alonso
4-star plays: Eduardo Escobar, Jeff McNeil
GPP Note: I like the Mets stack a good deal here.

New York Yankees (-165) @ Boston Red Sox (+140)
Implied Run Totals:
Rundown:
The Yankees will send Gerrit Cole to the mound who will be one of the top options on the slate regardless of the matchup with Boston. He has an elite 31.5% strikeout rate on the season which gives him a massive upside, he also has at least 40 FanDuel poitns in four straight games with a quality start in each of those. Josh Winckowski will start for Boston in a really tough matchup against this New York offense. Winckowski has actually been pretty solid as of late with at least 14.2 DraftKings points in four straight but I just don’t see a reason to get cute with him on this slate against the Yankees.
NYY 5-star plays: Aaron Judge, Giancarlo Stanton
4-star plays: Anthony Rizzo, Josh Donaldson
GPP Note: I’ll never talk you off of a Yankees stack if you want to go here, they’re not quite at the top of my list, but they’re a nice stack nonetheless.
BOS 5-star plays: None
4-star plays: JD Martinez, Trevor Story, Rafael Devers, Xander Bogaerts
GPP Note: I won’t stack Boston, but Cole can give up some home runs, so no issue if you want to home run hunt some leverage one-offs here.
St. Louis Cardinals (+186) @ Atlanta Braves (-225)
Implied Run Totals:
Rundown:
The Cardinals will send Matthew Liberatore to the mound against a really good Atlanta offense. They were held down a bit by Mikolas last night but I have my doubts that Liberatore can do the same here, he won’t make my pitching pool as the Braves come in with an implied run total of 5.5. Spencer Strider will start for the Braves in a decent enough matchup with the Cardinals at home. I’m never a huge fan of pitchers against the Cardinals just because they’re pesky, but Strider has been in elite form with at least 24.5 DraftKings points in four of his last five games.
STL 5-star plays: None
4-star plays: Paul Goldschmidt, Nolan Arenado
GPP Note: I’ll have more interest in Strider than anything from the Cards.
ATL 5-star plays: Ronald Acuna Jr.
4-star plays: Matt Olson, Austin Riley, Dansby Swanson, Michael Harris, Travis d’Arnaud
GPP Note: I like the Braves quite a bit here, they’ll be a top stack on this slate for me.
Detroit Tigers (+205) @ Chicago White Sox (-250)
Implied Run Totals:
Rundown:
Beau Brieske will start for the Tigers as a big underdog against Cease and the White Sox. Brieske has been fine I guess as of late, but the matchup is bad enough to where we can ignore him here. The White Sox lineup got a lot stronger with Eloy Jimenez back as well. Dylan Cease will get the start for Chicago and looks like an awesome option on this slate against this Tigers team. He has at least 55 FanDuel points in two of his last three games and leads the slate with a 34.3% strikeout rate on the season, he’s an elite option in all formats.
DET 5-star plays: None
4-star plays: None
GPP Note: Cease is a top pitching option on this slate.
CHW 5-star plays: Luis Robert, Eloy Jimenez, Tim Anderson
4-star plays: Andrew Vaughn, Jose Abreu, Gavin Sheets
GPP Note: The White Sox look like a great stack against Breiske in this one.

Colorado Rockies (-138) @ Arizona Diamondbacks (+117)
Implied Run Totals:
Rundown:
The Rockies will send Austin Gomber to the mound in a solid matchup with Arizona on the road. The issue with Gomber… he’s not very good. He has a 6.53 ERA and an xERA of 5.19, so there could be some positive regression coming, but even at a 5.19 ERA, I’m not interested on this slate. Dallas Keuchel will start for Arizona in this one against the Rockies away from Coors Field. Keuchel is just washed at this point in his career, I don’t see a reason to get to him here and the Rockies will actually look like a good stack even on the road… that’s how washed I think Keuchel is.
COL 5-star plays: Kris Bryant, CJ Cron
4-star plays: Connor Joe, Brendan Rodgers, Yonathan Daza
GPP Note: I don’t often like to stack the Rockies on the road, but they’ll look good against Keuchel in this one.
ARI 5-star plays: Ketel Marte
4-star plays: Christian Walker, David Peralta, Jordan Luplow, Carson Kelly
GPP Note: I have no issue with a Dbacks stack in tournaments against Gomber.
San Francisco Giants (+115) @ San Diego Padres (-136)
Implied Run Totals:
Rundown:
Logan Webb will start for the Giants on the road in San Diego in this one. Webb came down to Earth last time out against the White Sox but had at least 24.2 DraftKings points in three straight of his previous starts. He has a 21.7% strikeout rate on the season, I’ll have no issue using him in all formats on this slate. The Padres will send Joe Musgrove to the mound in a solid matchup with the Giants who are ice cold right now. Musgrove is in good form as well with at least 26.2 DraftKings points in four of his last five games and has a nice 25.6% strikeout rate as well.
SFG 5-star plays: None
4-star plays: Mike Yastrzemski, Wilmer Flores
GPP Note: Just one-offs for me in this spot, I like both pitchers in this game.
SDP 5-star plays: Manny Machado
4-star plays: Jake Cronenworth
GPP Note: Same story with the Padres, I like the pitching most in this game.
Toronto Blue Jays (-) @ Seattle Mariners (-)
Implied Run Totals:
Rundown:
Casey Lawrence will start for the Jays in this one on the road in Seattle. He hasn’t really looked great this season and gave up six earned runs against the Rays last time out… no real interest in him on this slate. The Mariners will send Marco Gonzales to the mound and if you’ve been reading my breakdowns frequently, you’ll know I have zero interest in him here. First of all, it’s a terrible matchup and he has very little strikeout upside with just a 13% strikeout rate on the season.
TOR 5-star plays: None
4-star plays: Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Bo Bichette, Alejandro Kirk, Teoscar Hernandez
GPP Note: I don’t love stacking against Gonzales as much as I don’t want to use him as a pitching option, he’s good at limiting damage.
SEA 5-star plays: Julio Rodriguez
4-star plays: Eugenio Suarez, JP Crawford
GPP Note: More of a mini-stack team just due to how weak the lineup is.
Chicago Cubs (+225) @ Los Angeles Dodgers (-276)
Implied Run Totals:
Rundown:
We’ll round out the slate with the Cubs heading into Los Angeles and sending Mark Leiter to the mound in a tough matchup. I say tough matchup, but this Dodgers team has been a bit of a letdown over the past couple of days considering their matchups. Leiter had a nice start last time out, but I still don’t think I want to get to him here, the Dodgers will look good again here. Tony Gonsolin will start for Los Angeles against a weak Cubs offense. Gonsolin had a big game last time out in 7.2 innings and has a 24.9% strikeout rate on the season, he’s a nice option in all formats.
CHC 5-star plays: None
4-star plays: Seiya Suzuki, Nico Hoerner
GPP Note: I like Gonsolin more than anything from the Cubs here.
LAD 5-star plays: Mookie Betts, Trea Turner
4-star plays: Freddie Freeman, Will Smith, Justin Turner
GPP Note: Yet again, the Dodgers look like a great stack in all formats.
