Main MLB Slate Player Projections and Stacks:

Boston Red Sox (-) @ New York Yankees (-)

Implied Run Totals:

Red Sox – NA IRT

Yankees – NA IRT

Rundown:

We’ll open up the day with Nathan Eovaldi taking the mound for Boston as he returns from a lengthy IL stint. He hasn’t pitched in over a month, so I would imagine he’s on some sort of pitch count, and in a tough matchup he won’t make my pitching pool. The Yankees will start Jordan Montgomery who has started two games against the Red Sox already this season but is averaging just 9.5 DraftKings points per game in those starts. It’s a small ballpark against a good-hitting Boston team, Montgomery probably isn’t a guy I’d want to get to here.

BOS 5-star plays: JD Martinez, Xander Bogaerts

4-star plays: Rafael Devers, Rob Refsnyder, Jeter Downs

GPP Note: Montgomery has struggled as of late and in this ballpark, I’ll have a good amount of interest in this Boston stack.

NYY 5-star plays: Aaron Judge, Giancarlo Stanton

4-star plays: DJ LeMahieu, Anthony Rizzo, Gleyber Torres

GPP Note: I like Boston a touch more, but the Yankees are certainly in play from a stacking perspective.

Atlanta Braves (-215) @ Washington Nationals (+180)

Implied Run Totals:

Braves – 5.8 IRT

Nationals – 4.0 IRT

Rundown:

Ian Anderson will start for Atlanta here in a pretty solid matchup with the Nationals and comes in as a heavy -215 favorite. Anderson hasn’t been all that great as of late, but the price tag is nice on DraftKings if you want to get to him as an SP2, but probably wouldn’t be a guy I want on a single pitcher site like FanDuel. Patrick Corbin will start for the Nats here and won’t be a guy who makes my pitcher pool. Corbin is someone I love stacking against and this Braves team has been really good offensively as of late. He struggled in this matchup the last time he pitched as well.

ATL 5-star plays: Ronald Acuna Jr., Austin Riley

4-star plays: Dansby Swanson, Michael Harris, Marcell Ozuna, Matt Olson

GPP Note: The Braves will be a top stack on this slate.

WAS 5-star plays: Juan Soto

4-star plays: Josh Bell, Luis Garcia, Nelson Cruz

GPP Note: The Nats would be more of a mini-stack team for me, I don’t love the bottom of the lineup.

Kansas City Royals (+275) @ Toronto Blue Jays (-357)

Implied Run Totals:

Royals – 3.1 IRT

Blue Jays – 5.7 IRT

Rundown:

Zack Greinke will get the start for the Royals as they continue their series in Toronto. Greinke has been better as of late with at least 17.9 DraftKings points in three of his last four games. That being said, he pitches to contact and has struggled on the road this season, and in a tough ballpark, he won’t be a guy I get to. Alek Manoah will look like one of the better pitching options on the slate against this watered-down Royals lineup due to Covid issues. This is a AAA lineup right now and Manoah had a nice bounce-back game last time out. He has a 22.7% strikeout rate on the season and is a guy I’ll like in all formats.

KCR 5-star plays: None

4-star plays: Bobby Witt Jr.

GPP Note: I’ll have a good amount of Manoah here.

TOR 5-star plays: Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Bo Bichette

4-star plays: Matt Chapman, George Springer, Alejandro Kirk, Teoscar Hernandez

GPP Note: Their right up there with the Braves as one of the best stacks so far.

Watching the weather is half the battle when it comes to MLB DFS. The DFS Army Weather Station has you covered, from games that have delay and postponement potential, to games that could have significant winds that will play a roll in selecting a team to stack or a pitcher to use.

Detroit Tigers (+157) @ Cleveland Guardians (-189)

Implied Run Totals:

Tigers – 3.7 IRT

Guardians – 5.0 IRT

Rundown:

Drew Hutchinson will get the ball for the Tigers against a hot-hitting Guardians team. Hutchison has been fine as of late but has a combined seven strikeouts over his last four games. I want more strikeout upside than he provides in my pitchers, so another guy that won’t make my pitcher’s pool. The Guardians will send Zach Plesac to the mound in a solid matchup with the Tigers. I was all of over Triston McKenzie last night and it worked well, I don’t mind going right back to the matchup. I would lean to do so more on DraftKings where he can be an SP2, but would still want to keep him for GPPs only due to the volatility.

DET 5-star plays: None

4-star plays: Riley Greene, Javier Baez

GPP Note: I just don’t think this lineup is very good and Plesac should at least be able to avoid the big inning.

CLE 5-star plays: Jose Ramirez

4-star plays: Steven Kwan, Amed Rosario, Josh Naylor, Franmil Reyes, Andres Gimenez

GPP Note: I like the Guardians quite a bit here.

Baltimore Orioles (-100) @ Tampa Bay Rays (-120)

Implied Run Totals:

Orioles – 4.0 IRT

Rays – 4.2 IRT

Rundown:

Tyler Wells will get the ball for Baltimore in a solid matchup on the road in Tampa. Wells has been pretty good as of late outside of a rough start against the Angels last time out. He has a lower strikeout rate than I’d like at 16.6% but I think you can do worse if you’re looking for an SP2 in this price range. The Rays will send Luis Patino to the mound after being banged up for a majority of the season. I guess you can get here in GPPs but the Orioles have been pesky as well as of late, so I think we can do better in this price range.

BAL 5-star plays: None

4-star plays: Cedric Mullins, Ryan Mountcastle, Adley Rutschman

GPP Note: I don’t love stacking in this ballpark and there’s a chance Patino comes back looking sharp, so not really a team I want to fully stack.

TBR 5-star plays: None

4-star plays: Randy Arozarena, Yandy Diaz

GPP Note: Wells has been good enough as of late to where I won’t get a bunch of the Wander Franco-less Rays here either.

Seattle Mariners (-) @ Texas Rangers (-)

Implied Run Totals:

Mariners – NA IRT

Rangers – NA IRT

Rundown:

Robbie Ray will start for the Mariners and will look like a pretty nice option on this slate. He’s been really good as of late with at least 37 FanDuel points in six straight games to go along with a quality start in all of them. He has a 27.6% strikeout rate on the season and will be a guy I get to a bunch here. The Rangers will start Taylor Hearn and probably won’t be a guy I look to here against a red-hot Mariners team. He also has an ERA near 6.00, so we can avoid him pretty confidently.

SEA 5-star plays: Julio Rodriquez, Jesse Winker

4-star plays: Ty France, Carlos Santana

GPP Note: I think the Mariners look pretty solid here against Hearn.

TEX 5-star plays: None

4-star plays: Corey Seager, Marcus Semien, Adolis Garcia

GPP Note: I’ll like Ray more than anything in this Rangers lineup.

MLB DFS Winning Lineups $50,000

Oakland Athletics (+168) @ Houston Astros (-200)

Implied Run Totals:

Athletics – 3.4 IRT

Astros – 4.8 IRT

Rundown:

The A’s will send Cole Irvin to the mound in a really tough matchup with this Astros offense. We can do better than him even at a cheap price, he won’t be a guy I get any of here. Then we get to one of the best pitchers on the slate in Justin Verlander. He gets an elite matchup against this weak Athletics lineup and has a 24.6% strikeout rate on the season, he’ll be a top pitching option on this slate in all formats.

OAK 5-star plays: None

4-star plays: Ramon Laureano

GPP Note: It’s a no from me dawg.

HOU 5-star plays: Jose Altuve, Alex Bregman

4-star plays: Jeremy Pena, Kyle Tucker

GPP Note: I like going to the Astros stack here against an average lefty.

Chicago White Sox (+120) @ Minnesota Twins (-140)

Implied Run Totals:

White Sox – 4.3 IRT

Twins – 4.9 IRT

Rundown:

Michael Kopech will start for the White Sox as they stick around in Minnesota. He struggled in this matchup about two weeks ago where he gave up six earned runs and really struggled with his command. I liked him a lot last time out against Detroit and he was pretty average, but I do like the price tag we get on him here. You find many pitchers in that price range with a ceiling as Kopech does. He has a 22.6% strikeout rate on the season and is a guy I like as an SP2 option. The Twins will send Devin Smeltzer who is coming off of a really rough start against the Rangers last time out. I don’t think we need to get to him here against a white Sox team that finally broke out last night.

CHW 5-star plays: Luis Robert, Andrew Vaughn

4-star plays: Tim Anderson, Jose Abreu, AJ Pollock

GPP Note: I like the White Sox as a mini-stack at the very least.

MIN 5-star plays: Byron Buxton

4-star plays: Luis Arraez, Carlos Correa, Jorge Polanco

GPP Note: Kopech has a big ceiling but also a low floor, so I won’t talk you off of a Twins stack, this lineup has some pop to it.

Cincinnati Reds (+145) @ St. Louis Cardinals (-175)

Implied Run Totals:

Reds – 4.0 IRT

Cardinals – 5.2 IRT

Rundown:

Hunter Greene will start for the Reds as they hit the road to St. Louis. Greene is a lot like Kopech where we know the ceiling is there but the floor is very real. He’s coming off of a nice start against the Rays last time out and has a 28.9% strikeout rate on the season. This Cardinals team is pesky and he struggles with giving up home runs though… a deep GPP flyer for me just because that k rate provides such a nice ceiling. The Cardinals will start Andre Pallante and even against a bad Reds team, he probably won’t be a guy I get too much here.

CIN 5-star plays: None

4-star plays: Jonathan India, Tommy Pham, Tyler Stephenson

GPP Note: I just don’t love this lineup even in a good matchup, mini-stack is in play, however.

STL 5-star plays: Nolan Arenado, Paul Goldschmidt

4-star plays: Nolan Gorman, Tyler O’Neil

GPP Note: If I’m stacking the Cardinals, I want those home run bats… O’Neil feels like he has Dinger of the Day written all over him here.

Pittsburgh Pirates (+121) @ Colorado Rockies (-143)

Implied Run Totals:

Pirates – 5.0 IRT

Rockies – 5.8 IRT

Rundown:

Into Coors Field we go as Jose Quintana will get the start against these Rockies. Quintana is coming off of a rough start against the Brewers and I don’t see a need to go back to him here in Coors. The Rockies will send German Marquez to the mound in a nice matchup against this Pirates team. He has at least 20.8 DraftKings points in two of his last four but both games came on the road… I don’t think we need to get cute with a pitcher in Coors on this slate.

PIT 5-star plays: Oneil Cruz

4-star plays: Dan Vogelbach, Jack Suwinski, Ke’Bryan Hayes

GPP Note: The Pirates look fine here, they’re a pretty cheap Coors stack as well.

COL 5-star plays: CJ Cron, Kris Bryant, Connor Joe

4-star plays: Brendan Rodgers, Jose Iglesias

GPP Note: The Rockies are right up there with the Jays and Braves as a top stacking team.

Los Angeles Dodgers (-215) @ Los Angeles Angels (+175)

Implied Run Totals:

Dodgers – 4.9 IRT

Angels – 3.4 IRT

Rundown:

Clayton Kershaw will get the start for the Dodgers in this one and could look like a nice option here especially if Mike Trout is forced to miss again as well. Kershaw has at least 46 FanDuel points in three of his last four games and will be a guy that looks pretty nice in all formats here. The Angels will start Patrick Sandoval in a tough matchup with this Dodgers team, I don’t see a need to get to him on this slate either. That being said, he’s coming off of a great start against Baltimore last time out and has gotten his strikeouts up.

LAD 5-star plays: Mookie Betts, Trea Turner

4-star plays: Will Smith, Freddie Freeman, Justin Turner

GPP Note: The Dodgers look great here against a lefty.

LAA 5-star plays: Mike Trout, Shohei Ohtani

4-star plays: None

GPP Note: Just the two superstars for me.

Arizona Diamondbacks (+160) @ San Diego Padres (-190)

Implied Run Totals:

Diamondbacks – 3.2 IRT

Padres – 4.4 IRT

Rundown:

Madison Bumgarner will get the start for the Dbacks in this one. He’s coming off of a nice start against the Rockies but I just don’t think he’ll be a guy I want to get a whole lot of here. The Padres will send Yu Darvish to the mound in what should be a nice matchup for him against a team with a 3.2 implied run total. He has a 22.4% strikeout rate on the season and has at least 18.7 DraftKings points in five straight starts.

ARI 5-star plays: None

4-star plays: Ketel Marte, Josh Rojas

GPP Note: Probably just one-offs for me in this one.

SDP 5-star plays: Luke Voit

4-star plays: Jake Cronenworth, Jorge Alfaro

GPP Note: I don’t love this lineup, but they’ll look like a fine mini-stack.

Milwaukee Brewers (-125) @ San Francisco Giants (+106)

Implied Run Totals:

Brewers – 3.7 IRT

Giants – 3.4 IRT

Rundown:

We’ll round out the slate with Brandon Woodruff getting the ball for the Brewers on the road in San Fran. Woody has been pretty dominant as of late since returning from his injuries a couple of weeks ago. He has at least eight strikeouts in each game and will look like a great option again here. The Giants will start Alex Wood and this Brewers team has been struggling with the bats as of late. They may get Christian Yelich back here but I still think you can get to Wood in GPPs at the very least.

MIL 5-star plays: None

4-star plays: Willy Adames, Andrew McCutchen, Hunter Renfroe

GPP Note: Probably not a team I want to stack, but they have some fine one-offs.

SFG 5-star plays: None

4-star plays: None

GPP Note: Love Woody here.
