Main MLB Slate Player Projections and Stacks:
Arizona Diamondbacks (+103) @ Cincinnati Reds (-122)
Implied Run Totals:
Rundown:
We’ll start in Cincinnati where Madison Bumgarner will take the mound against this Reds team that I’ve been targeting over the past couple of days. It does look like there could be some showers in the area for this one, so be sure to be checking the Weather Station before lock arrives. Mad Bum has been fine this season but nothing really to write home about and he gets a pretty hefty ballpark downgrade as he heads into Great American Smallpark. I don’t see a reason to target him here against a Reds team that boasts a 5.0 implied run total. Hunter Greene will start for the Reds in this one and has been much better as of late after his eight-run blow-up against the Brewers earlier in May. He has at least six strikeouts in five straight games which will allow him to give up a few runs without burning you. That said, I would reserve him for GPPs only, I just don’t like playing pitchers in this park.
ARI 5-star plays: Ketel Marte
4-star plays: Christian Walker, Josh Rojas, David Peralta, Alek Thomas
GPP Note: I like both teams in this one due to the pitching and hitting environment they’ll see.
CIN 5-star plays: Nick Senzel, Tommy Pham
4-star plays: Joey Votto, Brandon Drury, Tyler Stephenson
GPP Note: I’ve been on the Reds all weekend and that won’t stop here, they look like a great stack on a shorter slate.
Texas Rangers (-103) @ Cleveland Guardians (-115)
Implied Run Totals:
Rundown:
Jon Gray will take the mound for the Rangers and is coming off of his best start of the season against the Rays. He struck out 12 batters on his way to a 34-point DraftKing performance. I have no issue going right back to him here, but I wouldn’t expect that performance again. I do think the matchup is solid enough, the Guardians lineup doesn’t exactly scare me away from pitching. Cal Quantrill will start for Cleveland and has been solid enough this season, but man do I hate the price tag on DraftKings. He looks more playable on FanDuel as a tournament option.
TEX 5-star plays: Marcus Semien, Corey Seager
4-star plays: Mitch Garver, Adolis Garcia
GPP Note: This Rangers team has been swinging the bats nicely as of late and is a stack I have no issue with getting to here.
CLE 5-star plays: Jose Ramirez
4-star plays: Josh Naylor, Andres Gimenez
GPP Note: I’ll probably have more interest in Gray as a pitcher than the Guardians as a stack.
Seattle Mariners (+138) @ Houston Astros (-162)
Implied Run Totals:
Rundown:
Robbie Ray will start for Seattle and is the highest-priced pitcher on the slate on both DraftKings and FanDuel. He gets a tough matchup against this Astros lineup that has firepower up and down the order and is coming off of a bad start against Baltimore last time out. I’ll definitely have some interest in him due to the other pitching options on the slate, but he’s not a slam dunk by any means. The Astros will send Christian Javier to the mound and he might be a guy I have more interest in than Ray. He has at least 27 DraftKings points in two of his last three starts and gets a much better matchup against this Mariners lineup. He has a 31.5% strikeout rate on the season and will be a guy I get to a good amount here.
SEA 5-star plays: None
4-star plays: Julio Rodriguez, Jesse Winker, Ty France
GPP Note: I will have more interest in the pitching in this game than the hitting.
HOU 5-star plays: None
4-star plays: Jose Altuve, Yordan Alvarez, Kyle Tucker, Michael Brantley
GPP Note: If Ray starts to gain a lot of ownership, this Houston stack will look like a great leverage spot against a guy that has a tendency to struggle with command.
Watching the weather is half the battle when it comes to MLB DFS. The DFS Army Weather Station has you covered, from games that have delay and postponement potential, to games that could have significant winds that will play a roll in selecting a team to stack or a pitcher to use.
Toronto Blue Jays (-175) @ Kansas City Royals (+145)
Implied Run Totals:
Rundown:
Ross Stripling will start for Toronto in a great matchup with a weak-hitting Royals offense. That being said, he hasn’t been all that great for DFS this season, as he’s not stretched out as a starter. His season-high for pitches is 84 but he may need to stay in the starting rotation with Ryu injured… so it’s an interesting spot if you want to punt your SP2 and spend up for bats. Daniel Lynch will start for the Royals and is coming off of a rough start last time out where he gave up six runs to the Guardians. This Blue Jays lineup has been crushing the ball as of late, I don’t see a need to get to Lynch here and the Jays will be a top stack for me on this slate.
TOR 5-star plays: Bo Bichette, Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Alejandro Kirk
4-star plays: George Springer, Matt Chapman
GPP Note: The Jays will be one of the better stacks on the slate for me in this one.
KCR 5-star plays: Whit Merrifield
4-star plays: Bobby Witt Jr., MJ Melendez, Salvador Perez
GPP Note: Stripling doesn’t scare me off, but I’ll have issues fully stacking the Royals. They’ll be more of a mini-stack team for me.
Boston Red Sox (+110) @ Los Angeles Angels (-129)
Implied Run Totals:
Rundown:
Michael Wacha will get the ball for Boston in this one and his ERA can be deceiving at 2.43 on the season. He’s due for some major regression with an xERA of 4.92, and I don’t like the matchup with a good Angels lineup, so he won’t be a guy that I get to a whole lot here. Noah Syndergaard will be his mound opponent and has been very hit or miss as of late. He has a -8 point game and a -9.6 DraftKings point game over his last three with a 27.6 DraftKings points game thrown in there against the Rangers. This Boston lineup can hit, so I don’t want to go too crazy with him here, but I won’t talk you off of him in GPPs.
BOS 5-star plays: Rafael Devers, JD Martinez
4-star plays: Jarren Duran, Xander Bogaerts, Trevor Story
GPP Note: The Red Sox could be sneaky here.
LAA 5-star plays: Mike Trout, Shohei Ohtani
4-star plays: Jared Walsh, Brandon Marsh
GPP Note: No issues getting to the Angels here either, they’ll look like a solid stack in all formats.

New York Mets (-109) @ San Diego Padres (-107)
Implied Run Totals:
Rundown:
We’ll round out the slate with Carlos Carrasco heading into San Diego to face a hot Padres team. Carrasco has been really good for DFS as of late and is providing a nice floor at the very least. He sees a ballpark upgrade here as well and will be a guy I like on this short slate. Blake Snell will be his mound opponent and has looked solid enough in his three starts this season. We know the strikeout upside is there for him somewhere as well, so I’ll have no issue with him here either especially at this price tag.
NYM 5-star plays: Franciso Lindor
4-star plays: Peter Alonso, Starling Marte
GPP Note: I won’t be stacking either of these teams, but there are some nice one-offs.
SDP 5-star plays: Manny Machado
4-star plays: Luke Voit, Nomar Mazara
GPP Note: Same story here, just one-offs for me.
