Main MLB Slate Player Projections and Stacks:

Atlanta Braves (+133) @ Philadelphia Phillies (-156)

Implied Run Totals:

Braves – 3.9 IRT

Phillies – 4.8 IRT

Rundown:

We’ll open up the slate as Ian Anderson hits the road to take on the Phillies in their home ballpark. It’s not a great matchup and Anderson has been a bit all over the place this season. He came down to earth after a big game against the Cubs, but probably more of a GPP SP2 option more than anything. Aaron Nola will take the mound for the Phillies in a tough matchup with this Braves team. I do like Nola quite a bit with his 29.2% strikeout rate giving him a massive ceiling, but I hate this matchup. He’d be more of a GPP option on a normal slate, but pitching isn’t great on this slate.

ATL 5-star plays: Ronald Acuna Jr.

4-star plays: Matt Olson, Austin Riley

GPP Note: I don’t love stacking against Nola, but I do respect this Braves team quite a bit.

PHI 5-star plays: Kyle Schwarber

4-star plays: Rhys Hoskins, Nick Castellanos, JT Realmuto

GPP Note: I would have no issue with a full-stack against Anderson in this one.

New York Yankees (-125) @ Houston Astros (+105)

Implied Run Totals:

Yankees – 4.0 IRT

Astros – 3.7 IRT

Rundown:

The Yankees will send Luis Severino to the mound in this one and is a guy that has been really good as of late. He has a quality start in three of his last four games and five of his last seven to go along with a 29.7% strikeout rate on the season. Much like Nola, I don’t love the matchup but pitching isn’t good on this slate and the price tag is pretty nice on Severino in this spot. The Astros will start Luis Garcia who has shown a solid enough floor as of late even with giving up at least two earned runs in four straight games. Again, not a matchup I love, but there are some strikeouts in this Yankees lineup.

NYY 5-star plays: Aaron Judge

4-star plays: Giancarlo Stanton, Anthony Rizzo, DJ LeMahieu

GPP Note: I’ll never have an issue with a Yankees stack considering how well this team has been hitting.

HOU 5-star plays: Kyle Tucker

4-star plays: Alex Bregman, Jose Altuve

GPP Note: I’ll probably have more interest in Severino than anything from the Astros, but they’re still in play for one-offs and mini-stacks.

Milwaukee Brewers (-123) @ Pittsburgh Pirates (+104)

Implied Run Totals:

Brewers – 4.8 IRT

Pirates – 4.4 IRT

Rundown:

Jason Alexander will start for the Brewers in a nice matchup in a big pitcher’s park in Pittsburgh. That being said, he strikes out pretty much nobody with a 10.1% strikeout rate on the season and I generally want some more strikeout upside out of my pitchers than that. I don’t think he’ll make my pitching pool tonight and if he becomes popular… I think it’s a mistake by the public. The Pirates will send JT Brubaker to the mound and even though the matchup is tougher, I would prefer him at a cheaper price tag than Alexander (on DraftKings at least) on the other side of this one.

MIL 5-star plays: Christian Yelich

4-star plays: Willy Adames, Rowdy Tellez

GPP Note: I think I prefer more of a mini-stack from the Brewers, I don’t think Brubaker is all that good, but I just hate stacking in this ballpark.

PIT 5-star plays: Oneil Cruz, Bryan Reynolds

4-star plays: Ke’Bryan Haes, Dan Vogelbach

GPP Note: Same deal here, the Pirates are probably more of a mini-stack team… but I do like them as a leverage stack if Alexander starts getting some traction by the public.

Watching the weather is half the battle when it comes to MLB DFS. The DFS Army Weather Station has you covered, from games that have delay and postponement potential, to games that could have significant winds that will play a roll in selecting a team to stack or a pitcher to use.

Tampa Bay Rays (-) @ Toronto Blue Jays (-)

Implied Run Totals:

Rays – NA IRT

Blue Jays – NA IRT

Rundown:

It sounds like Drew Rasmussen will start this one for the Rays which is interesting considering it’s Jeffrey Springs normal day of rest, so keep an eye on this situation… but we’ll operate under the assumption that Rasmussen is the guy. It really doesn’t matter who starts between the two of them for me against this Jays team, I won’t have much interest in either guy against a tough matchup. Yusei Kikuchi will start for the Jays and just hasn’t shown much upside as he’s been held under 10 DraftKings points in four straight games. It’s odd considering his 25.5% strikeout rate and I really don’t think this Rays lineup is all that scary… I think you can at least make an argument for Kikuchi in tournaments.

TBR 5-star plays: Randy Arozarena

4-star plays: Wander Franco, Isaac Paredes

GPP Note: More of a mini-stack team for me, this lineup gets pretty ugly toward the bottom of the lineup.

TOR 5-star plays: Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Bo Bichette

4-star plays: George Springer, Alejandro Kirk, Teoscar Hernandez

GPP Note: I’ll be sure to get some Jays stacks in this one.

Cincinnati Reds (+105) @ Chicago Cubs (-124)

Implied Run Totals:

Reds – 4.7 IRT

Cubs – 5.0 IRT

Rundown:

We could be looking at a wind game in Wrigley here as projections are showing the wind blowing out at around 15 mph to dead center as of this morning. Keep an eye on the Weather Station as we get closer to lock, but we could get a nice boost to offenses in this one. Graham Ashcraft will get the start for the Reds and is coming off of a really nice 8-inning start last time out against the Giants. I would have some interest if this wind tapers off a bit, but I’ll have a lot of interest in the bats in this game if the wind turns out to be accurate. Kyle Hendricks will start for the Cubs and is extremely interesting on DraftKings where he is just $5.1k… he’s coming off a great game against the Cardinals and this Reds lineup isn’t great. You can make a pretty strong case for him as an SP2.

CIN 5-star plays: Jonathan India, Brandon Drury

4-star plays: Tommy Pham, Joey Votto

GPP Note: If you don’t want to take part in Hendricks, I like the bats quite a bit in this one.

CHC 5-star plays: Willson Contreras

4-star plays: Ian Happ, Patrick Wisdom, Rafael Ortega

GPP Note: Same story here, I like the bats here.

San Diego Padres (+115) @ Los Angeles Dodgers (-135)

Implied Run Totals:

Padres – 3.6 IRT

Dodgers – 4.1 IRT

Rundown:

The Padres will send Joe Musgrove to the mound here in a tough matchup with a really tough Dodgers lineup. He’s coming off of a rough start last time out but had 52 FanDuel points in three straight games prior to that and had 12 straight quality starts before that as well… 12! I have no issue going back to him here in all formats. The Dodgers will start Mitch White and could be an interesting SP2 option, he has a 24% strikeout rate on the season, and this Padres lineup doesn’t scare me all that much, the price tag is nice on him as well.

SDP 5-star plays: None

4-star plays: Jake Cronenworth, Luke Voit

GPP Note: This lineup is just kind of ugly right now without Machado and Tatis.

LAD 5-star plays: None

4-star plays: Trea Turner, Freddie Freeman, Will Smith

GPP Note: More of a tournament stack than anything if you think Musgrove keeps struggling.

MLB DFS Winning Lineups $50,000

Oakland Athletics (+192) @ Seattle Mariners (-235)

Implied Run Totals:

Athletics – 3.1 IRT

Mariners – 4.6 IRT

Rundown:

We’ll round out the slate with Adrian Martinez heading into Seattle to take on the Mariners. He has one start on the season and looked fairly solid, but I don’t think he’ll be a guy I want to get to here, I would prefer just going down to Kyle Hendricks if you land in this price range. Logan Gilbert will start on the other side of this one and will be one of my favorite pitchers on the slate. I love streaming pitchers against the A’s and Gilbert is a legit stud at this point. He has a 24.9% strikeout rate on the season and has massive win equity as a -235 favorite in this one.

OAK 5-star plays: None

4-star plays: None

GPP Note: I love Gilbert here.

SEA 5-star plays: Julio Rodriguez, Jesse Winker

4-star plays: JP Crawford, Eugenio Suarez

GPP Note: I think the Mariners could be sneaky here.
