Main MLB Slate Player Projections and Stacks:

Pittsburgh Pirates (-) @ Washington Nationals (-)

Implied Run Totals:

Pirates – NA IRT

Nationals – NA IRT

Rundown:

We’ll open up the slate as Miguel Yajure takes the mound as the Pirates head into Washington to take on the Nationals. Yajure likely won’t make my pitcher pool tonight even in a nice matchup, he just hasn’t shown us anything worth rostering this season at the big league level. He doesn’t seem like he’ll be a big strikeout guy in the majors either. Erick Fedde will start on the other side of this one in a nice matchup against a weak-hitting Pirates team. Fedde had a nice outing last time out and I do think you can make a case for him as an SP2 option in tournaments if you need to. His strikeout rate is low, but that’s baked into the price tag at 18.4% and as I said, the matchup is a good one.

 PIT 5-star plays: Bryan Reynolds

4-star plays: Oneil Cruz, Ke’Bryan Hayes

GPP Note: I do think Fedde is at least noteworthy here, but I do like the top of this Pirates lineup if you wanted to make a mini stack of sorts.

WAS 5-star plays: Juan Soto

4-star plays: Josh Bell, Nelson Cruz, Luis Garcia

GPP Note: This lineup isn’t the best, but I do think it’s mini-stack worthy in this spot.

Oakland Athletics (+250) @ New York Yankees (-305)

Implied Run Totals:

Athletics – 3.2 IRT

Yankees – 5.6 IRT

Rundown:

The Athletics will send Paul Blackburn to the mound in a really tough matchup with the Yankees on the road in Yankee Stadium. He’s coming off a really tough game against the Mariners where he gave up seven earned runs and won’t be a guy I go back to in this spot, I just don’t think we need to force it here. New York will start Jordan Montgomery in a great matchup against this Athletics lineup. I don’t love the ballpark, but this is a AAA lineup. He has at least 20.5 DraftKings points in three of his last five as well and will look like a solid option in all formats here.

OAK 5-star plays: None

4-star plays: Ramon Laureano

GPP Note: I’ll have more interest in Montgomery than anything from the A’s.

NYY 5-star plays: Aaron Judge, Giancarlo Stanton

4-star plays: Anthony Rizzo, Josh Donaldson

GPP Note: The Yankees look like a nice stacking option against Blackburn at home with an implied run total over five in this one.

Boston Red Sox (+155) @ Toronto Blue Jays (-187)

Implied Run Totals:

Red Sox – 3.9 IRT

Blue Jays – 5.3 IRT

Rundown:

The Red Sox will send Connor Seabold to the mound in this one against a hard-hitting Blue Jays team. This will be Seabold’s season debut in the big leagues and has been pretty good in the minors with a 2.09 ERA and 0.35 HR/9 in 51.2 innings pitched. He does have some nice strikeout stuff here if the Red Sox let him go far enough into this game (if he’s able to limit the damage as well). At min price, I think you could do worse if you wanted a sprinkle of him in tournaments. The Blue Jays will start Kevin Gausman who bounced back nicely last time out against the White Sox. I have no issue going back to the well on him here, although I don’t love the matchup with this Red Sox lineup.

BOS 5-star plays: None

4-star plays: Jarren Duran, Rafael Devers, JD Martinez

GPP Note: Probably more of a mini-stack team for me against Gausman.

TOR 5-star plays: Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Bo Bichette

4-star plays: George Springer, Alejandro Kirk

GPP Note: If you’re not taking a flyer on Seabold, this Jays stack looks pretty nice.

Watching the weather is half the battle when it comes to MLB DFS. The DFS Army Weather Station has you covered, from games that have delay and postponement potential, to games that could have significant winds that will play a roll in selecting a team to stack or a pitcher to use.

Minnesota Twins (-131) @ Cleveland Guardians (+112)

Implied Run Totals:

Twins – 4.6 IRT

Guardians – 4.1 IRT

Rundown:

Sonny Gray will take the mound for the Twins in this one in a nice matchup with the Guardians. Gray struggled a bit in this same matchup last time he started, but I have no issue going back to him here. He has a 27% strikeout rate on the season and this Guardians offense won’t scare me off. Speaking of the Guardians, they’ll send Triston McKenzie to the mound and is another guy that struggled in this same matchup last time out. That game turned out to be an offensive battle with a final of 11-10, but other than that game, he’s been in solid enough form. He’s probably more of a tournament option for me, but the price tag is fine… I think I’d rather just go down to Gray, however.

MIN 5-star plays: Byron Buxton

4-star plays: Luis Arraez, Carlos Correa

GPP Note: I don’t think I want to stack against McKenzie in this one.

CLE 5-star plays: Jose Ramirez

4-star plays: Amed Rosario, Josh Naylor, Andres Gimenez

GPP Note: Same deal here, I don’t really want to stack against Gray.

Miami Marlins (+118) @ St. Louis Cardinals (-138)

Implied Run Totals:

Marlins – 3.6 IRT

Cardinals – 4.1 IRT

Rundown:

The Marlins will send Pablo Lopez to the mound in this one in a tougher matchup with this Cardinals lineup. That being said, Lopez has been really good this season and is coming off of a nice start last time out against the Rockies. He has a 2.61 ERA and a 25.1% strikeout rate on the year, so even though the matchup kind of stinks, I’ll have some exposure to him in this one. Adam Wainwright will start for the Cardinals in a nice matchup with a weaker Marlins team. Wainwright struggled a bit over his last two starts but gets a great bounce-back spot here at a nice price tag, he’s a nice SP2 option.

MIA  5-star plays: Jazz Chisholm

4-star plays: Jon Berti, Garrett Cooper

GPP Note: More of a one-off team than anything for me here.

STL 5-star plays: None

4-star plays: Paul Goldschmidt, Nolan Arenado, Nolan Gorman

GPP Note: I would have a tough time stacking against Pablo Lopez.

Texas Rangers (-140) @ Kansas City Royals (+120)

Implied Run Totals:

Rangers – 4.7 IRT

Royals – 4.0 IRT

Rundown:

The Rangers will send Martin Perez to the mound who has been really good this season. The matchup sets up well against this Royals team as well. I do expect he has some regression coming at some point with an xERA of 3.13 compared to his ERA of 1.96. That being said, he does have at least 17.5 DraftKings points in four of his last five games and is a solid option in all formats. Kris Bubic will start for the Royals and is coming off of a nice start last time out but has struggled this season. I don’t think he’ll make my pitching pool tonight and I actually think this Rangers team could be sneaky for a stack.

TEX 5-star plays: Corey Seager, Adolis Garcia

4-star plays: Marcus Semien, Mitch Garver

GPP Note: I think the Rangers are a sneaky stack here against Bubic.

KCR 5-star plays: Whit Merrifield

4-star plays: Bobby Witt Jr., MJ Melendez

GPP Note: I will probably like Perez here more than anything from the Royals.

MLB DFS Winning Lineups $50,000

Los Angeles Dodgers (-209) @ Colorado Rockies (+175)

Implied Run Totals:

Dodgers – 7.2 IRT

Rockies – 5.0 IRT

Rundown:

Onto Coors Field we go where Tyler Anderson will get the start for the Dodgers in a tough matchup. He has been in somewhat decent form over his last five but does have two stinkers over his last couple of starts. That, and I just don’t want to roster him in Coors Field, so he’ll be a pass for me. Chad Kuhl won’t be any different as he takes the mound for the Rockies. He’ll get one of the tougher matchups on the slate against this Dodgers team in a massive ballpark upgrade. They have a 7.2 implied run total in this one and will look like one of, if not, the best stack on the slate.

LAD 5-star plays: Trea Turner, Freddie Freeman, Will Smith

4-star plays: Max Muncy, Chris Taylor, Justin Turner, Gavin Lux, Cody Bellinger

GPP Note: It’ll be hard to ignore the Dodgers on this slate.

COL 5-star plays: CJ Cron, Connor Joe

4-star plays: Yonathan Daza, Charlie Blackmon, Brendan Rodgers

GPP Note: The Dodgers side of this game obviously looks better, but the Rockies still look solid here against a lefty.

Chicago White Sox (+116) @ Los Angeles Angels (-135)

Implied Run Totals:

White Sox – 4.1 IRT

Angels – 4.6 IRT

Rundown:

Lucas Giolito will take the mound for the White Sox on the road in Los Angeles. Giolito has not been in good form and has actually given up a combined 15 earned runs over his last two games. They were tough matchups against the Jays and Astros, but I just think I want to see a good game from him before I go back to him in this one. Noah Syndergaard will start for the Angels and has been somewhat solid over his last few games, but this White Sox lineup is pretty good, so probably not a guy I’ll get to here.

CHW 5-star plays: Tim Anderson, Luis Robert

4-star plays: Andrew Vaughn, Jose Abreu

GPP Note: The White Sox look pretty solid here as a full-stack, I don’t love the bottom of the lineup, however.

LAA 5-star plays: Mike Trout, Shoehei Ohtani

4-star plays: Taylor Ward, Jared Walsh

GPP Note: If you think Giolito continues to struggle here I think the Angels look viable.

Baltimore Orioles (+130) @ Seattle Mariners (-153)

Implied Run Totals:

Orioles – 3.5 IRT

Mariners – 4.2 IRT

Rundown:

We’ll round out the slate with Tyler Wells starting in a solid matchup with this Mariners team in a pitcher’s park in Seattle. Wells has been pretty good as of late with at least 15.3 DraftKings points in four of his last five games and looks like a solid SP2 option in this one if you land in this price range. George Kirby will start on the other side of this one in a nice matchup as well. Kirby is one of the top pitching prospects in baseball and has looked really good on the season with a 3.12 ERA and a 23.3% strikeout rate.

BAL 5-star plays: None

4-star plays: Trey Mancini, Cedric Mullins

GPP Note: I’ll have more interest in Kirby than anything from Baltimore.

SEA 5-star plays: Julio Rodriguez

4-star plays: Jesse Winker, Eugenio Suarez

GPP Note: I kind of like Tyler Wells here as ugly as it may sound, this Mariners team does have some nice options if you want to mini-stack.
