Main MLB Slate Player Projections and Stacks:

Milwaukee Brewers (-169) @ Washinton Nationals (+145)

Implied Run Totals:

Brewers – 4.9 IRT

Nationals – 3.8 IRT

Rundown:

We’ll start in Washington where Aaron Ashby will get the start as the Brewers begin a series with the Nationals. Ashby has shown a really nice strikeout upside as of late and will be a guy I like a lot in this spot. The Nationals lineup isn’t one that scares me either with a sub-4 implied run total. Ashby has a 30.5% strikeout rate on the season and is priced really nice here, he’s a guy I’ll have quite a bit of interest in here. Erick Fedde will get the start for Washington and won’t be a guy I think we need to get to on a big slate tonight. He’s had negative DraftKings points in back-to-back games and doesn’t have much of a strikeout ceiling. The Brewers offense has scuffled as of late, but they will break back out at some point, and this is a good spot to do so.

 MIL 5-star plays: Willy Adames

4-star plays: Christian Yelich, Luis Urias, Rowdy Tellez

GPP Note: I think the Brewers breakout at some point in this series, and this is a spot where I think this could happen.

WAS 5-star plays: Juan Soto

4-star plays: Josh Bell

GPP Note: I’ll have more interest in Ashby than anyone in this Nats lineup.

Arizona Diamondbacks (+114) @ Philadelphia Phillies (-132)

Implied Run Totals:

Diamondbacks – 4.1 IRT

Phillies – 4.6 IRT

Rundown:

Zac Gallen will get the start for Arizona against a Phillies team that just swept the Brewers and scored 18 runs over their past two games, so the offense is starting to click for them. That being said, Gallen has been pretty good this season and will be a guy I have some interest in for tournaments. Kyle Gibson will take the mound for the Phillies and gets a nice matchup against this Diamondbacks lineup. He’s coming off of a rough start last time out and doesn’t provide much of a ceiling, so more of a deeper SP2 option than anything for me on a full slate of games.

ARI 5-star plays: Daulton Varsho

4-star plays: Ketel Marte, Alek Thomas

GPP Note: I’m not in love with Gibson but also don’t love this Diamondbacks lineup, so if you want to go here they’re probably more of a mini-stack team for me than anything.

PHI 5-star plays: Bryce Harper, Kyle Schwarber

4-star plays: Nick Castellanos, Rhys Hoskins, Bryson Stott

GPP Note: I just love the firepower in this Phillies lineup. I do think Gallen is a good pitcher, so I don’t want to go too crazy here, but I do like the Phillies here.

Chicago Cubs (+207) @ New York Yankees (-250)

Implied Run Totals:

Cubs – 3.4 IRT

Yankees – 5.3 IRT

Rundown:

The Cubbies will send Wade Miley to the mound in a really tough matchup against a hard-hitting Yankees team in a small ballpark. I don’t think we need to force Miley here, we have other options we can get to on a full slate. Luis Severino will get the start for New York and is coming off of an elite start against the Tigers. The Cubs lineup isn’t all that great and he has a 27.6% strikeout rate on the year… he’ll look like a great option in all formats against a team with a 3.4 implied run total.

CHC 5-star plays: None

4-star plays: Willson Contreras

GPP Note: I like Severino too much to get much of this Cubs lineup.

NYY 5-star plays: Aaron Judge, Giancarlo Stanton

4-star plays: Anthony Rizzo, DJ LeMahieu, Josh Donaldson

GPP Note: The Yankees get a weak lefty at home… sign me up.

Watching the weather is half the battle when it comes to MLB DFS. The DFS Army Weather Station has you covered, from games that have delay and postponement potential, to games that could have significant winds that will play a roll in selecting a team to stack or a pitcher to use.

Oakland Athletics (+145) @ Cleveland Guardians (-167)

Implied Run Totals:

Athletics – 3.4 IRT

Guardians – 4.3 IRT

Rundown:

Paul Blackburn will take the mound for the A’s in a decent enough spot against this Guardians lineup. Blackburn has been sneaky good this season but has been better as a real-life pitcher than a DFS pitcher. The ERA looks great but the strikeout upside isn’t really there. That said, he’s a fine secondary option if you happen to land on him. Triston McKenzie will start for the Guardians and as many of you know, I’m going to continue to stream pitching against the A’s… this lineup is just atrocious. He has at least 21.4 DraftKings points in three of his last five games and will be a guy I like quite a bit.

OAK 5-star plays: None

4-star plays: Ramon Laureano

GPP Note: I don’t think this A’s team will ever be a team a fully stack this season given how bad their lineup is.

CLE 5-star plays: Jose Ramirez

4-star plays: Josh Naylor, Andres Gimenez

GPP Note: I just don’t love this lineup, but there are some decent pieces, so a mini-stack could make some sense.

Toronto Blue Jays (-214) @ Detroit Tigers (+175)

Implied Run Totals:

Blue Jays – 5.5 IRT

Tigers – 3.8 IRT

Rundown:

The Blue Jays will send Jose Berrios to the mound and has been very volatile to start the season. That being said, he’s coming off of a 13-stirkouet game against the Twins and gets a really nice matchup here against a weak-hitting Tigers lineup. I think you can do a lot worse in this price range and will be a guy I like quite a bit on this slate. Elvin Rodriguez will start for the Tigers and is coming off of a 10 earned run game against the Yankees last time out. The Blue Jays are a team I like a lot right now, so no interest in Rodriguez.

TOR 5-star plays: Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Bo Bichette

4-star plays: Teoscar Hernandez, Alejandro Kirk, George Springer, Matt Chapman

GPP Note: The Jays will be a top stack for me on the road which guarantees 9th inning at-bats against Rodriguez.

DET 5-star plays: None

4-star plays: Austin Meadows, Javier Baez, Willi Castro

GPP Note: I’ll have more interest in Berrios than this Tigers lineup.

Pittsburgh Pirates (+180) @ Atlanta Braves (-220)

Implied Run Totals:

Pirates – 3.5 IRT

Braves – 5.2 IRT

Rundown:

The Pirates will start Roansy Contreras in a really tough spot against Atlanta in a ballpark downgrade away from PNC Park. That said, Contreras has been really good considering his price tag in this spot. He has a 27.4% strikeout rate on the season and is a solid play in this price range… I don’t love targeting the Braves for pitching, but he’s solid enough for tournaments. Spencer Strider will start for the Braves and is another young pitcher that I like, especially in this spot. The Pirates lineup is nothing special and Strider looks like the real deal, I’ll have interest in all formats. Both of these pitchers in this game are interesting in a similar price range.

PIT 5-star plays: None

4-star plays: Ke’Bryan Hayes, Bryan Reynolds

GPP Note: No real interest in the Pirates here against Strider.

ATL 5-star plays: Ronald Acuna Jr., Austin Riley

4-star plays: Dansby Swanson, Matt Olson

GPP Note: I do like this lineup, but Conteras is a solid pitcher… that being said, no issue riding the heater this lineup has been on.

Miami Marlins (+130) @ Houston Astros (-150)

Implied Run Totals:

Marlins – 3.7 IRT

Astros – 4.5 IRT

Rundown:

Pablo Lopez will start for the Marlins and has been really good to start the season with just a 2.18 ERA. The matchup is tough against this Houston team and at a big price tag, but I won’t talk you off of him if you have interest over some of these other guys. The Astros will start Luis Garcia who has been pretty solid this season as well and I do like the matchup against the Marlins. His 23.5% strikeout rate is fair considering his price tag.

MIA 5-star plays: None

4-star plays: Jazz Chisholm, Jorge Soler, Jesus Sanchez

GPP Note: The Marlins do have some nice bats, but I do like Garcia a bit here.

HOU 5-star plays: None

4-star plays: Jose Altuve, Alex Bregman, Yordan Alvarez, Kyle Tucker

GPP Note: I’m not going to stack against Lopez, but there are some solid one-offs in this lineup.

Baltimore Orioles (-105) @ Kansas City Royals (-110)

Implied Run Totals:

Orioles – 4.8 IRT

Royals – 4.9 IRT

Rundown:

Bruce Zimmerman will take the ball for Baltimore in a great matchup with the Royals who have struggled all season long on offense. That being said, Zimmerman has given up 18 hits and 11 runs over his last two games, so I have no interest in him and will have some Royals shares here. Jon Heasley will start for the Royals and has given up three earned runs in four straight games which is fine, but he doesn’t have the strikeout upside for him to be considerable for me even at this price tag.

BAL 5-star plays: Cedric Mullins

4-star plays: Trey Mancini, Ryan Mountcastle

GPP Note: I do like some of these Baltimore bats, so I can see a mini-stack making sense at the very least.

KCR 5-star plays: Whit Merrifield

4-star plays: Bobby Witt Jr., Salvador Perez, Andrew Benintendi

GPP Note: Similar to Baltimore, I don’t love this offense as a whole, but matchups change a lot of things, and this is one of those things.

MLB DFS Winning Lineups $50,000

Texas Rangers (+106) @ Chicago White Sox (-127)

Implied Run Totals:

Rangers – 4.4 IRT

White Sox – 4.8 IRT

Rundown:

Glenn Otto will get the start for the Rangers and has been fairly solid as of late with at least 14.5 DraftKings points in three straight games. I don’t think he stands out all that much, but if you land on him in a lineup or two, I get it. Davis Martin will start for Chicago and generally isn’t a huge strikeout guy at just 19.5% in the minors this season combined with his 17.4% strikeout rate in the majors. I don’t think we need to force either of these pitchers on a full slate.

TEX 5-star plays: Corey Seager, Marcus Semien

4-star plays: Mitch Garver, Adolis Garcia

GPP Note: The Rangers stack is definitely in play against Martin here, no issue with them in all formats.

CHW 5-star plays: Luis Robert

4-star plays: Jose Abreu, Yasmani Grandal, Andrew Vaughn

GPP Note: Otto is serviceable but I still think this White Sox lineup is good enough to take care of business.

Tampa Bay Rays (-113) @ Minnesota Twins (-105)

Implied Run Totals:

Rays – 4.4 IRT

Twins – 4.3 IRT

Rundown:

The Rays will send Drew Rasmussen to the mound here in a nice matchup against the Twins. Minnesota is striking out at a 22.4% rate on the season to go with Rasmussen’s 21.6% strikeout rate, so he’s certainly a viable option on this slate. The Twins will start Devin Smeltzer in a nice matchup against this watered-down Rays lineup that is still without Wander Franco and Brandon Lowe. He has a 1.93 ERA on the season and is a guy I think we can make a case for here.

TBR 5-star plays: Randy Arozarena

4-star plays: Mike Zunino

GPP Note: I just don’t like this Rays lineup without Franco or Lowe.

MIN 5-star plays: Byron Buxton

4-star plays: Carlos Correa, Jorge Polanco, Max Kepler

GPP Note: I do like the firepower in this lineup, so I think you can make a case for this team in GPPs.

Cincinnati Reds (+115) @ St. Louis Cardinals (-137)

Implied Run Totals:

Reds – 3.8 IRT

Cardinals – 4.4 IRT

Rundown:

Luis Castillo will start for the Reds in a tough matchup with this Cardinals team. Castillo is generally a guy I like due to the upside he has but I don’t love targeting this Cardinals team. He has a 25.2% strikeout rate on the season and is more of a tournament option than anything for me in this spot. Andre Pallante will start for the Cardinals and likely won’t be a guy I get to here even in a nice matchup with the Reds. He just doesn’t bring enough strikeout rate to the table for me to have much interest.

CIN 5-star plays: Joey Votto

4-star plays: Tommy Pham, Brandon Drury, TJ Friedl

GPP Note: I do think this Reds lineup has some viable pieces, we’ve seen some nice production from them considering some of their price tags.

STL 5-star plays: Paul Goldschmidt

4-star plays: Tommy Edman, Nolan Arenado, Tyler O’Neill

GPP Note: I will have some interest in Castillo here but he’s no stranger to giving up the big game, so I don’t hate a leverage stack here if he gains ownership.

New York Mets (-) @ Los Angeles Angels (-)

Implied Run Totals:

Mets – NA IRT

Angels – NA IRT

Rundown:

Tylor Megill will start for the Mets and will make his first start in about a month after hitting the IL with a bicep injury. I would imagine he’ll have some sort of pitch count or innings limit in this one which will keep me off of him as a pitching option. The Angels will start Jhonathan Diaz who is min price on DraftKings and cheap on FanDuel as well considering his production this season. I think we can do worse if you’re wanting to force some big bats in your lineup. The Mets could be without Starling Marte and Pete Alonso again which would make the matchup even better.

NYM 5-star plays: Francisco Lindor

4-star plays: JD Davis, Mark Canha

GPP Note: This lineup is pretty weak without Marte and Alonso, so I’ll have more interest in a full-stack if those two return.

LAA 5-star plays: Shohei Ohtani

4-star plays: Jared Walsh, Jo Adell

GPP Note: Megill is a solid pitcher but I don’t expect him to go all that deep into this game.

Colorado Rockies (+217) @ San Diego Padres (-264)

Implied Run Totals:

Rockies – 2.9 IRT

Padres – 4.8 IRT

Rundown:

Chad Kuhl will start for the Rockies and has been somewhat serviceable as of late, but I don’t think we need to force him here on a big slate. I do like his mound opponent, Joe Musgrove quite a bit, however. I love targeting the Rockies on the road and they’re in a pitcher’s ballpark here. Musgrove has a 1.64 ERA on the season and at least 40 FanDuel points in four of his last five games, he’ll be an elite pitcher option in all formats.

COL 5-star plays: None

4-star plays: Brendan Rodgers, CJ Cron

GPP Note: Not a ton of interest in the Rockies here for me.

SDP 5-star plays: Manny Machado

4-star plays: Jake Cronenworth, Luke Voit

GPP Note: I have no problem stacking against Kuhl if that’s where you want to go on this slate.

Boston Red Sox (-) @ Seattle Mariners (-)

Implied Run Totals:

Red Sox – NA IRT

Mariners – NA IRT

Rundown:

Rich Hill will get the ball for Boston in what looks to be a nice matchup against a below-average Seattle team. We will have some weather projected to be in the forecast, so keep an eye on the Weather Station as we approach lock to see if it’s safe for pitching. Hill is coming off of a nice start against Oakland and is an interesting option here. Marco Gonzales will start for the Mariners and probably won’t be a guy I look to get to due to the matchup and his limited strikeout upside, but he’s been fine for cash games as of late if you really need an option in this price range.

BOS 5-star plays: Trevor Story, JD Martinez

4-star plays: Rafael Devers, Xander Bogaerts

GPP Note: I like attacking some of these lefty mashers which makes for an interesting mini-stack at the very least.

SEA 5-star plays: None

4-star plays: Julio Rodriguez, Ty France, Eugenio Suarez

GPP Note: I do like the Mariners as a whole due to the power/speed upside they bring, but they’ve just underachieved big time this season.

Los Angeles Dodgers (-148) @ San Franciso Giants (+126)

Implied Run Totals:

Dodgers – 4.4 IRT

Giants – 3.7 IRT

Rundown:

We’ll round out the slate in San Fran where Walker Buehler will start for the Dodgers. Buehler has been pretty disappointing as of late and hasn’t eclipsed the 15 DraftKings point mark in five starts. I do think we can get to him in a solid enough matchup, but maybe lower your expectations a bit. Jakob Junis will start for the Giants and is coming off of a huge game against the Marlins, however, I’m not a big fan of targeting pitching against this Dodgers offense, so more of a GPP play than anything for me.

LAD 5-star plays: Mookie Betts, Trea Turner

4-star plays: Freddie Freeman, Max Muncy, Will Smith

GPP Note: I’ll never have an issue with the Dodgers stack due to how high-powered these bats are.

SFG 5-star plays: None

4-star plays: Joc Pederson, Brandon Crawford, Mike Yastrzemski

GPP Note: I do think Buehler will regress in a positive way at some point, but if you think he continues to struggle here I can see how you would want to get to the Giants.
