Another solid night in the DFS Army…

Gotta say, I never get tired of seeing our members post these screenshots!

The basics

Please refer to the original article here if you’re unfamiliar with any of the stats or terminology used in the notes below.  NEW! If you want to read more about my carnage rating system, you can do so here.

Yesterday’s results

James Paxton: 37 FD | 18.35 DK
Edwin Jackson: 38 FD | 20.65 DK
Jurickson Profar: 3 FD | 3 DK
Danny Valencia: 0 FD | 0 DK
Jonathan Lucroy: 6 FD | 5 DK
Trea Turner: 0 FD | 0 DK

Rough day for most of these batters, but I’ll go right back to them in another good matchup!

Cash players – 8/5/2018

Aaron Nola (PHI P: $10,000 FD | $12,400 DK) – Nola is coming off an impressive 8-inning performance against the Red Sox (you know, that super hot team) and gets a much easier matchup at home against the Marlins today.  He checks all the usual boxes we look for in a pitcher; low carnage rating (2.42), low wOBA (.191), good KSCORE (475), and solid performances in his recent starts (an average of 21.88 DK over his last 7 starts).  To top it all off, he has the most love from Vegas as well, with a -215 moneyline and 3.02 implied runs.  All in all, Nola is a great way to start your cash lineups today.

Jose Pirela (SDP 2B/OF: $2,100 FD | $3,200 DK) – Pirela has quietly been warming up, and has a really good matchup today to really kick things off.  He’s been hitting .250 ISO against lefties and only striking out 12.5% of the time (only once in his last five games!), while Lester has allowed .379 wOBA and .218 ISO to righties.  What’s more, Pirela is 4 for 8 with one home run and just one strikeout against Lester, so he has no problem making things happen against him.  Jankowski makes another good option here too in case Pirela doesn’t play today.

Jason Heyward (CHC OF: $3,000 FD | $3,900 DK) – On the other side of that game, Heyward has a good opportunity to succeed today as well.  He’s hitting .422 wOBA and .250 ISO against lefties while only striking out 11.11% of the time.  Lucchesi’s strikeout rate is a little below average at 20.7% and he’s allowing .409 wOBA to lefties.  I don’t really see any good candidates for a two-man cash stack, but a lefty stack could be a fun tournament option.

Like what you see here, but wish you could quickly find more batters in good spots like these ones are?  I upload a list of every batter that meets the requirements I’m looking for, every single day, and today’s list has 37 batters on it.  Everybody gets a few here, but our VIPs get the rest!  That list also has a breakdown of every tier for the DraftKings Tiers slates.

Joseph Wendle (TBR 2B/OF: $2,800 FD | $3,800 DK) – Wendle has found himself a nice little groove, posting up fantasy production in all but two games since the end of June.  His strikeout rate of 14.63% is very nice, as is his .407 wOBA against righties.  Shields is pitching better this year, but he’s still allowing .357 wOBA and .241 ISO to lefties.  Kiermaier makes a good option from this offense, too.

Anthony Rendon (WAS 3B: $3,800 FD | $4,300 DK) – Rendon is a good option if you want to pay up for some power today.  He’s hitting .235 ISO against righties and only striking out 11.63% of the time, while Castillo is allowing .378 xwOBA to righties.  It’s a small sample size, but Rendon is 3 for 4 with two home runs and four walks against him as well.  You could take almost any other Washington player to go along with him, but I would focus on the lefties or Turner for any stacking options.

Matt Carpenter (STL 1B/3B: $4,400 FD | $5,100 DK) – Carpenter has been pretty hot since coming out of the All-Star break, and looks to continue that streak with another great matchup today.  He’s hitting .462 wOBA and .333 ISO against righties, and Williams is allowing .377 xwOBA to lefties while only striking out a measly 10.5% of his batters.  He also has a 6.72 carnage rating, one of the worst on the slate.  Finally, Carpenter is 6 for 13 with two home runs and only one strikeout against him, so he knows this matchup fairly well.

And that’s going to do it for today!  As always, be sure to check out the rest of our MLB content today and join us for the NASCAR race at Watkins Glen.  It’s fairly quiet in the DFS world today otherwise, so it would be a good day to catch up on some of the NFL content we already have coming out.  Speaking of which, our prices will be going up within the next few weeks for the NFL season, so now is the time to jump on board if you’re still on the fence.  Just be sure to use promo code NILLY to get 10% off your monthly membership.  Until then, good luck today!
