Hello everyone, and welcome back to the MLB cash academy at the DFS Army! I go by nillyJay in the DFS Army where I coach and contribute content for MLB, NASCAR, and all things cash games related (such as proper bankroll management and cash ladders). You can find me on Twitter or in our Slack channels @nillyJay.
A big congrats to Semp for his $10,000 win last night. Good job!

The basics
Please refer to the original article here if you’re unfamiliar with any of the stats or terminology used in the notes below. If you want to read more about my carnage rating system, you can do so here.
Yesterday’s results
Mike Clevinger: 37 FD | 19.9 DK
Jose Iglesias: 3 FD | 3 DK
Joey Wendle: 3 FD | 3 DK
Blake Swihart: 3 FD | 3 DK
Matt Kemp: 3 FD | 3 DK
Nothing crazy here, but they were cheap. Kemp was sure a letdown though!
Cash players – 8/25/2018
Clayton Kershaw (LAD P: $11,600 FD | $11,800 DK) – We’re basically splitting hairs regarding the aces tonight, but I’m giving the edge to Kershaw. His ridiculously low 2.15 carnage rating leads the slate, and he also offers a combined .209 wOBA, 547 KSCORE, and 718 VKSCORE. Add in his absurd -430 moneyline and 2.25 implied runs, and we have ourselves an anchor for our cash games tonight.
Tyler White (HOU 1B: $3,60 FD | $3,600 DK) – White is in the midst of a hot streak, and now is the time to get some shares of him if you haven’t already. He’s hitting .389 wOBA and .250 ISO off of righties, while Barria is allowing .347 wOBA and .229 ISO to right-handed batters. He’s had 11 hits in his last 7 games, and is in a great spot to keep that going tonight.
Stephen Piscotty (OAK OF: $2,900 FD | $3,900 DK) – The A’s get a great matchup today against a new pitcher that struggled in his first start. Piscotty is hitting .601 wOBA and .556 ISO against lefties over the last couple of weeks, and is only striking out 12.00% of the time. He offers good exposure to the heart of this hot lineup at a reasonable price.
Like what you see here, but wish you could quickly find more batters in good spots like these ones are? I upload a list of every batter that meets the requirements I’m looking for, every single day, and today’s list has 31 batters on it. Everybody gets a few here, but our VIPs get the rest! That list also has a breakdown of the Tiers and QuickPick slates.
Tony Wolters (COL C: $3,000 FD | $3,300 DK) – While he may not be running as hot as some others, Wolters offers other things that makes him a decent cash game target for me. For starters, he gets a great matchup against Gant who is allowing .415 wOBA and .326 ISO to lefties. He’s been fairly consistent (fantasy production in 6 of his last 8 games), and is the cheapest way to get some exposure to the Colorado’s 6.10 implied runs.
Neil Walker (NYY 1B/2B: $2,800 FD | $3,800 DK) – Walker is another reasonably priced batter who is running pretty hot; he’s hitting .591 wOBA and .438 ISO against righties, and Cashner is allowing .396 xwOBA to the left side of the plate. There’s not much strikeout potential here (15.91% and 8.20%), and he’s had lots of fantasy production over 13 of his last 15 games.
And that’s going to do it for today! As usual, be sure to check out the rest of our MLB content today, and give EricF’s MMA article (for the card tonight) as read as well.
