Hello everyone, and welcome back to the MLB cash academy at the DFS Army! I go by nillyJay in the DFS Army where I coach and contribute content for MLB, NASCAR, and all things cash games related (such as proper bankroll management and cash ladders).  You can find me on Twitter or in our Slack channels @nillyJay.

Just another day at the DFS Army…

Yeah I know, bv6211 wins all the time, but there are some new faces in there too!

The basics

Please refer to the original article here if you’re unfamiliar with any of the stats or terminology used in the notes below.  NEW! If you want to read more about my carnage rating system, you can do so here.

Yesterday’s results

Nathan Eovaldi: -4 FD | -9.2 DK
Zack Wheeler: 49 FD | 28.75 DK
Logan Forsythe: 9.2 FD | 8 DK
Randal Grichuk: 3 FD | 3 DK
Giancarlo Stanton: 9.2 FD | 6 DK
Nick Markakis (Tiers bonus play): 35.1 FD | 24 DK

I don’t tilt very often, but when I do, it’s because Eovaldi couldn’t stop throwing to his opponent’s bat.

Cash players – 8/11/2018

Trevor Bauer (CLE P: $12,000 FD | $12,500 DK) – Bauer leads the way today and offers the usual set of high-end qualities; a low 3.91 carnage rating, .289 combined wOBA, a 628 KSCORE, and lots of Vegas love (-227 moneyline and 3.32 implied runs).  He had two dominant performances against them earlier this year (20 strikeouts and 3 earned runs over 14 innings), and he’ll look to make it three today.

Jack Flaherty (STL P: $8,000 FD | $9,600 DK) – Flaherty has been very solid this this season and gets another good matchup today against my struggling Royals.  He has the lowest carnage rating on the slate (2.80), one of the best KSCOREs (516), combined wOBA (.285), and lots of Vegas support (-161 moneyline and 3.76 implied runs).   The Royals have very little experience against him (only Phillips has seen him), which is something I love seeing for a pitcher.

Yonder Alonso (CLE 1B: $3,100 FD | $4,000 DK) – Alonso has started to find some consistency lately and gets a good matchup against Shields who he has some solid experience against (he’s 4 for 12 with 3 home runs and no strikeouts).  Speaking of Shields, he’s allowing .386 wOBA and .242 ISO to lefties, so I really like Alonso’s chances today.

Like what you see here, but wish you could quickly find more batters in good spots like these ones are? I upload a list of every batter that meets the requirements I’m looking for, every single day, and today’s list has a whopping 43 batters on it.  Everybody gets a few here, but our VIPs get the rest!  That list also has a breakdown of the DraftKings Tiers slates.

Josh Bell (PIT 1B: $2,700 FD | $4,100 DK) – Bell has been solid since his return and gets another good matchup to keep his hot streak going.  Since he’s been back, he’s hit for .720 wOBA and .571 ISO against lefties while only striking out 13.33% of the time.  Blach has allowed .344 wOBA to the right side of the plate and has only struck out 13.30% of his batters.  Speaking of Blach, he generally only lasts a few innings, which means plenty of bullpen opportunities for Bell today.

Travis Shaw (MIL 2B/3B: $3,600 FD | $4,900 DK) – Shaw has a great matchup today, and after getting embarrassed by the Braves yesterday, I except them to rebound today while making a bit of noise.  Shaw has one of the best matchups on the team; he’s hitting .387 wOBA and .333 ISO against righties while Teheran has allowed .384 xwOBA to lefties (and is a known target in these matchups).  Did I mention that Teheran also carries a 6.88 carnage rating today as well?

Nick Markakis (ATL OF: $3,700 FD | $4,300 DK) – Markakis rarely lets me down and I’m going right back to him again today.  Miley carries a 6.20 carnage rating today and has allowed .412 xwOBA to lefties while only striking out 15.50% of his batters.  Markakis has been smashing lefties for .472 wOBA and .308 ISO over the last couple of weeks, and shouldn’t have much problem keeping that going today.

And that’s going to do it for today!  As always, be sure to check out the rest of our MLB content today, and be sure to catch up on some of our NFL articles as well.  Also, be sure to check out our new pricing structure and use promo code NILLY to get 10% off your monthly membership (if you want access to all of our proven exclusive VIP-only content, that is).  Until then, good luck today!
