This article focuses primarily on 3-Man snake draft strategy. Reason being is that you can easily apply this information to H2H as well as widen up to 4-Man contests, which is the average size of the daily GPPs. I’m going to break down what I saw in 20-30 drafts today and how we can exploit our opponents using our tools over on DFS Army.
Quick Trends (20 game sample)
- First pick split between Blackmon and Kershaw today. We talked about it in slack but there were defiantly two different groups of players leaning one way vs the other.
- First round picks: Arenado, Ramirez, and Carpenter
- Chalk: Blackmon, Carp, Arenado, Ramirez, Lindor, Acuna, Kershaw, Kluber, and Cargo. 60% chalk today means there are a lot of bats to grab.

Draft Projections & Rankings
The default draft rankings by position in Draft for their top positions. While most of these would be solid plays, they are vastly different than our projections and grades we developed in house at DFS Army where take into account many different metrics that these do not. Combining our brand new Starting Lineups Page, Domination Station, Articles, and research station, you can quickly see where some players in absolute smash spots should be drafted higher than what’s on this list.
Did you miss my 2 part strategy piece on Play Draft? Find it here —> Draft Strategy Guide to Pitching and Hitting
Strategy
- Pitching: Three elite pitchers firing off tonight combined with bats everywhere. My strategy is to weave pitching in the 3-5 rounds tonight as opposed to just first or last.
- Infield: There are 8+ elite hitters in this position. It’s going to come down to what game you want to focus on
- Outfield: Not as plentiful as infield, so go here first tonight.
Player spotlight: I’m just going to leave this here again because he went undrafted with these numbers. Everyday we high-light one player that went undrafted. Feeling contrarian tonight? Look no further than Paul Goldschmidt. Making his second debut on this list of undrafted players, his numbers speak for him. Yes it’s a RvR match up tonight, but he still has a .500 ISO against right handed pitchers.
