This article focuses primarily on 3-Man snake draft strategy. Reason being is that you can easily apply this information to H2H as well as widen up to 4-Man contests, which is the average size of the daily GPPs. I’m going to break down what I saw in 20-30 drafts today and how we can exploit our opponents using our tools over on DFS Army.

Quick Trends (20 game sample)

  • In a reversal of new trends, we’re back to old. Betts regained the top spot tonight showing that even facing elite batters, he can still hit the ball.
  • Rounding out your first pick Arenado, Corbin, and Goldschmidt
  • Chalk: Everyone above plus Tanaka, Yelich, Peralta, Martinez, and Davis.  60% tonight means it’ll be a  higher variance than usual. These are the type of nights where you can realistically grab a full sweep regardless of draft position.

Draft Projections & Rankings

The default draft rankings by position in Draft for their top positions. While most of these would be solid plays, they are vastly different than our projections and grades we developed in house at DFS Army where take into account many different metrics that these do not. Combining our brand new Starting Lineups Page, Domination Station, Articles, and research station, you can quickly see where some players in absolute smash spots should be drafted higher than what’s on this list.

Strategy

  • Extended thoughts: A tricky day with Coors in the mix. It’s likely to rain and generally the first game back in Colorado plays to the under. So what do you do? Attack the solid batts. Grab your Arenado, Story, or Myers and move on. There are a lot of games with TT near or over 5 tonight and a lot of bad pitchers on the mound. With bats having a ton of top options, don’t be afraid to grab a guy in a great spot, but doesn’t have a solid Draft number. The mid to high 8s range is stacked including everyone in the 1-4 spot for Oakland and Cubs tonight.
  • Pitching: Unless I get solid confirmation Snell is not on a pitch count, I’m ruling him out. That leaves 2 solid options and things look shakey after that. I’m not burning a first round pick on Corbin, but I’m not waiting until the last round to grab the other pitchers we’ll talk about in slack today.
  • Hitting: Plethora is the word of the day. You can’t go wrong with bats even in 6 mans tonight.

Player spotlight: Everyday we high-light one player that went undrafted. Feeling contrarian tonight? Look no further than Bryce Harper. The numbers speak volumes that’s he is in for a solid day today.
