This article focuses primarily on 3-Man snake draft strategy. Reason being is that you can easily apply this information to H2H as well as widen up to 4-Man contests, which is the average size of the daily GPPs. I’m going to break down what I saw in 20-30 drafts today and how we can exploit our opponents using our tools over on DFS Army.
Quick Trends (20 game sample)
- Ina bold move, Bauer took the number one slot today. It’s not something I agree with, but hey, thanks for letting me grab ultra hitters that should have gone first. I’m not complaining.
- The rest of the first round: Arenado, Blackmon, Cruz, Thor, and Marte
- Chalk: Bauer, Arenado, Blackmon, Cruz, Thor, Marte, Ramirez, Lindor, Trout, Goldschmidt, Morton, and Hoskins. A high 80% chalk including all three pitchers today, which is a first this season.

Draft Projections & Rankings
The default draft rankings by position in Draft for their top positions. While most of these would be solid plays, they are vastly different than our projections and grades we developed in house at DFS Army where take into account many different metrics that these do not. Combining our brand new Starting Lineups Page, Domination Station, Articles, and research station, you can quickly see where some players in absolute smash spots should be drafted higher than what’s on this list.

Strategy
- Pitching: Bauer is good, but is he better than Morton and Thor by such a high margin he’s worth giving up a hitter that can go north of thirty points tonight? The answer is no. No pitcher has ever gone for 30 or more points this season because in order to achieve it, they would need a near perfect game. Here’s the breakdown of what is needed to hit 30 points with a pitcher:
- 9 pts from Innings
- 4 pts for the win
- 17 strikeouts
- 0 ERA
- Infield: Thanks to the DH designation, we’re stacked to the nines on this slot tonight
- Outfield: Scarcity exists past five hitters unless you’re a PIT truthsayer tonight. Personally Freeland at home scares me off of PIT bats a little bit. Not a ton, but not enough to go deep into their line up.
Player spotlight: Everyday we high-light one player that went undrafted. Feeling contrarian tonight? Look no further than Max Kepler. Trending wOBA, ISO, and hard contact facing a solid pitcher. Baseball is a tough cookie to crack and just because a pitcher is doing well doesn’t mean he’s infallible.
