This article focuses primarily on 3-Man snake draft strategy. Reason being is that you can easily apply this information to H2H as well as widen up to 4-Man contests, which is the average size of the daily GPPs. I’m going to break down what I saw in 20-30 drafts today and how we can exploit our opponents using our tools over on DFS Army.

Quick Trends (20 game sample)

  • Thor was your number one overall pick tonight and it wasn’t even close. Looking at the rest of the pitching slate, I can see why.
  • Rounding out the first pick was Arenado, Blackmon, Goldschmidt, Strasburg,
  • Chalk today includes everyone above, plus Baez, Stanton, Peralta, Goldschmidt, Gonzales, Story, Betts, and Lindor. 80% chalk tonight as the consensus wraps around the usual suspects

Draft Projections & Rankings

The default draft rankings by position in Draft for their top positions. While most of these would be solid plays, they are vastly different than our projections and grades we developed in house at DFS Army where take into account many different metrics that these do not. Combining our brand new Starting Lineups Page, Domination Station, Articles, and research station, you can quickly see where some players in absolute smash spots should be drafted higher than what’s on this list.

Strategy

  • Pitching: It’s a grab Thor and run for the hills type of night. Yes John Grey is in a great spot and the Padres aren’t lighting up the scoreboard, but it is Coors. Strasburg right after a long DL? I don’t know. Everyone else is a coin flip that’s on the list.
  • Hitting is plentiful in all spots tonight. There’s nothing to worry about. It comes down to what side of the CLE/BOS game you want to have exposure to.

Player spotlight: Everyday we high-light one player that went undrafted. Feeling contrarian tonight? Look no further than David Dahl . Batting 6th (projected) today. his numbers are on the rise and he’s a steal as last pick. His numbers aren’t as high as everyone else, but he’s hitting the ball harder with every at bat over the last 7 and he’s in Coors.
