We had yet another big winner last night;

Congratulations to garfield19 for his $20,000 win, which capped off yet another awesome week in the DFS Army where we had various wins ranging from $1,500 up to $50,000. Good job everyone!

Cash players – 7/28/2018
Justin Verlander (: $12,000 FD | $13,400 DK) – Verlander leads the slate once again; his 1.78 carnage rating is the best on the slate, as is his 641 KSCORE. Vegas is giving him the most love too, with a -284 moneyline and only 2.76 implied runs against him. He’s seen these Texas batters plenty, and there have been a lot of strikeouts in these matchups; in his 3 games against them this year he’s had 27 strikeouts and only allowed 9 hits and 5 earned runs. This is a pretty easy call for cash games today, and he has tournament winning upside too.
Patrick Corbin (: $9,600 FD | $10,700 DK) – Another solid option, Corbin’s 2.21 carnage rating is second best today, and his 503 KSCORE is right up there with the best of them. He also sports a -155 moneyline / 3.37 implied runs, which are also among the best today. He faces the Padres back in April and had 11 strikeouts while only allowing 2 hits and 2 earned runs. This is another great high floor/high ceiling option if you don’t want to pay up for Verlander.
Mike Trout (LAA OF: $5,300 FD | $5,800 DK) – I don’t really have to tell you that Mike Trout is in play (he almost always is), but I did want to point out his impressive history against Felix; he’s 30 for 81 against him with 7 home runs and 13 extra-base hits over 26 games. While it’s true Felix had his fair share of success with a decent amount of strikeouts, keep in mind a lot of those were from years past where Felix was in a more dominant form. That’s not the case now, and I expect Trout to have the upper hand again today.
Wilmer Flores (NYM 1B/3B: $2,900 FD | $3,700 DK) – Flores is starting to heat up, though his price hasn’t quite spiked back up yet. He’s hitting .381 wOBA and .235 ISO against righties while only striking out 4.88% of the time. He faces Williams today who has been a fun target for DFS purposes; his .473 wOBA and .269 ISO allowed against righties are bad (good for us), and he’s only striking out 9.9% of his batters. Also, while it is a small sample size, Flores is 2 for 3 with an extra-base hit against Williams, and I think he can do at least that much again today.
Randal Grichuk (TOR OF: $3,000 FD | $4,300 DK) – Toronto is in another smash spot today, and while you could probably just pull a name or two out of a hat and have success with them, I’d like to point out Grichuk and his consistency. Not only has he had fantasy production in 9 of his last 10 games, but 5 of those were double-digit scoring efforts. He’s hammering the ball from both sides of the plate, but most notably is hitting .530 wOBA and .565 ISO against righties. Giolito is allowing .323 wOBA / .237 ISO to righties and has a very high carnage rating of 7.82 (worst on the slate). I like his price on FanDuel better, but he’s a solid option on either site.
Ryan Zimmerman (WAS 1B: $2,900 FD | $3,700 DK) – Zimmerman needed a couple games to dust off the cobwebs but seems to be returning to form. He’s hitting righties for .357 wOBA and .214 ISO while only striking out 6.67% of the time since his return. Richards is struggling against righties, allowing .425 wOBA and .191 ISO to them. This is a great spot for Zimmerman to keep his new hitting streak going, and I think he does just that.
And that’s going to do it for today! Be sure to check out the rest of our MLB content today, and be sure to join us for the NASCAR races and MMA card this weekend. Also, don’t forget that NFL season is fast approaching, and with that comes an increase in our monthly rates. Now is a great time to get on board so you don’t have to pay the higher prices later, but remember to use promo code NILLY to get that 10% discount and make it even cheaper. Until then, good luck today!
