Oof, Bauer…oof.

Cash players – 7/21/2018

Justin Verlander (HOU P: $11,500 FD | $13,500 DK) – Verlander has dominated this matchup (check out the BvP log…it’s insane), and Vegas likes him to do it again today (-161 moneyline and 3.52 implied runs).  Not only that, but he offers a 3.02 carnage rating today, which is the second best on the slate.  His 512 KSCORE also tops the charts, but I suspect he will pitch even better than that today.

Clayton Kershaw (LAD P: $10,700 FD | $11,900 DK) – Our other high-end ace today is Kershaw, who has also performed very well in this matchup.  He’s just behind Verlander with a 3.12 carnage rating and 503 KSCORE, though his combined wOBA is better at .260.  His Vegas love is pretty similar (-149 moneyline, 3.62 implied runs), and makes another solid option today if you don’t want to go with the other ones.

Robbie Grossman (MIN OF: $3,000 FD | $3,700 DK) – I went with my Royals yesterday, but it looks like I have to switch to the other side today.  Several Twins find themselves in good spots today, and Grossman is one of the cheaper options.  His .389 wOBA and 4.76% strikeout rate match up very well against Junis and his .474 wOBA / .361 ISO to the left side of the plate, and he’s only striking out 17% of his batters.  Kepler, Mauer, or Cave all make good options to pair him with for a two-man cash stack.

Mitch Haniger (SEA OF: $3,800 FD | $4,400 DK) – There are a lot of weather threats today, but that’s one nice thing about taking batters playing in a dome.  Haniger has been hitting righties pretty well (.388 wOBA / .235 ISO) while Covey has been getting smashed by them (.423 wOBA / .200 ISO).  He’s also got a 7.74 carnage rating (second worst on the slate), which makes Haniger and almost any other Mariner a good choice today.

Yoan Moncada (CWS 2B: $3,600 FD | $4,000 DK) – While we’re looking at the late game, let’s not overlook a solid option on the other team.  Moncada has been hitting a respectable .357 wOBA against righties lately, while Felix has been giving up .371 wOBA and .265 ISO to those hitting from the left side.  He also hasn’t been striking out his batters (15.5%), while Moncada has scored fantasy points in all but one game this month.

Another day, another winner in the DFS Army!

And that’s going to do it for today!  Be sure to check out the rest of our MLB content coming out today, and join us for the NASCAR Xfinity race today as well.  We’ve also got a nice MMA card tomorrow morning, so don’t miss out on that either.

Don’t forget that we have an opening for an NFL writer, so if you think you’ve got what it takes, be sure to apply!  Don’t forget that once NFL rolls around our monthly rates go up as well.  Now is a great time to get on board so you don’t have to pay the higher prices later, but remember to use promo code NILLY to get that 10% discount and make it even cheaper.  Until then, good luck today!
