This article focuses primarily on 3-Man snake draft strategy. Reason being is that you can easily apply this information to H2H as well as widen up to 4-Man contests, which is the average size of the daily GPPs. I’m going to break down what I saw in 20-30 drafts today and how we can exploit our opponents using our tools over on DFS Army.
Quick Trends (20 game sample)
- First pick tonight was all over the place. With inclement weather and possible PPD for multiple games, there was two camps: Fade and pray. Trout was your overall #1 pick, but only by 5%
- Rounding out first pick was Carpenter, Betts, Paxton, and Bregman. This marks the first time this season where a clear cut first round was no where to be found.
- Chalk: Trout, Carpenter, Betts, Paxton, Bregman, Martinez, Ramierez, Springer, and Choo. With a 60% chalk tonight, people are having trouble reconciling value deeper into their drafts.

Draft Projections & Rankings
The default draft rankings by position in Draft for their top positions. While most of these would be solid plays, they are vastly different than our projections and grades we developed in house at DFS Army where take into account many different metrics that these do not. Combining our brand new Starting Lineups Page, Domination Station, Articles, and research station, you can quickly see where some players in absolute smash spots should be drafted higher than what’s on this list.

Strategy
- Pitching: Let’s talk scarcity. It’s my opinion that there is only 1 pitcher tonight that’s safe and has upside. I’m the only one that agreed with this take because pitching went late today outside of me drafting Paxton early.
- In Field: More options than you can shake a stick at. Very deep today with so many gas cans on the mound.
- Outfield: Little more scarcity in play. One trap I would avoid is Gallo. He’s got solid numbers, but is projected to bat 8th today. I’m always targeting hitters in 1-4 and sometimes 5 depending on the team. Batting 8th means one less up to bat most likely.
