This article focuses primarily on 3-Man snake draft strategy. Reason being is that you can easily apply this information to H2H as well as widen up to 4-Man contests, which is the average size of the daily GPPs. I’m going to break down what I saw in 20-30 drafts today and how we can exploit our opponents using our tools over on DFS Army.

Quick Trends (20 game sample)

  • First pick today is a chase of yesterday’s performance by Ramirez. Grabbing 35 points on Draft yesterday was a pretty deep hole to dig out of if you didn’t have him since scores generally range in the 60s to take down a 3 man.
  • Rounding out your first round pick was a consistent second drafted Bauer, Trout, Tanaka, Betts, and Goldschmidt
  • Chalk: Ramirez, Bauer, Trout, Tanaka, Betts, Goldschmidt, Suarez, Lindor, Pollock, Stanton, and Gallo. 73% chalk today brings us back to levels prior to the all star break. With tighter cores gives you a better edge when picking those fliers.

Draft Projections & Rankings

The default draft rankings by position in Draft for their top positions. While most of these would be solid plays, they are vastly different than our projections and grades we developed in house at DFS Army where take into account many different metrics that these do not. Combining our brand new Starting Lineups Page, Domination Station, Articles, and research station, you can quickly see where some players in absolute smash spots should be drafted higher than what’s on this list.

Strategy

  • Pitching: I feel like a broken record here lately. Save it for last. The guys grabbing Bauer first pick? Solid pass with the pitching available on this slate.
  • Infield: with players showing up as DH tagged for infield, it gives you a wide berth of options tonight. No scarcity here.
  • Outfield: It depends on whether or not you think Texas is going to smash today. I don’t vs. Godley but no one I drafted against agreed with my opinion. We’ll talk about where to go with outfield and draft positional strategies in our VIP Slack chat today.

Player spotlight: Eugenio Suarez jumps off the page today with 92.01 on our DFS Army Grading system with a whopping .751 xWOBA.
