This article focuses primarily on 3-Man snake draft strategy. Reason being is that you can easily apply this information to H2H as well as widen up to 4-Man contests, which is the average size of the daily GPPs. I’m going to break down what I saw in 20-30 drafts today and how we can exploit our opponents using our tools over on DFS Army.

Quick Trends (20 game sample)

  • First pick tonight was a round robin of names you’re used to seeing up here; Sale, Ramierez, Betts, Arenado, and Trout. In the end no one won the slug fest by a wide margin. It was a pretty even split among all these names.
  • Chalk: Sale, Arenado, Blackmon, Trout, Martinez, Betts, Hoskins, Story, and Benintendi. 60% chalk on a 15 game slate isn’t too bad.
  • We’ll dig into the other exposures today in our VIP slack chat and how to build a strategy around it.

Draft Projections & Rankings

The default draft rankings by position in Draft for their top positions. While most of these would be solid plays, they are vastly different than our projections and grades we developed in house at DFS Army where take into account many different metrics that these do not. Combining our brand new Starting Lineups Page, Domination Station, Articles, and research station, you can quickly see where some players in absolute smash spots should be drafted higher than what’s on this list.

Strategy

  • Pitching: Like most Fridays, save it for the end. I beat this horse to death in MLB and if you’ve followed these articles, you can see why with the stats to back it up
  • Hitting: With Coors in play and many games with TT over 5, there’s no scarcity anywhere. Rather it’s the opposite, how do you widdle your player pool down? The wide selection why the chalk dropped to 60% today which opens a lot of opportunity for differentiation.
  • A Case for Oakland: Red hot bats, but ignored in draft today. They’re visiting Coors on a hot muggy day making the ball carry extra well here. Freeland has been clutch at home, but that doesn’t mean he’s infallible.
