This article focuses primarily on 3-Man snake draft strategy. Reason being is that you can easily apply this information to H2H as well as widen up to 4-Man contests, which is the average size of the daily GPPs. I’m going to break down what I saw in 20-30 drafts today and how we can exploit our opponents using our tools over on DFS Army.
Quick Trends (20 game sample)
- He’s number one in your hearts and in your line ups, it’s Chris Sale? Should have been Trout, but Sale clocked in as the #1 pick 65% of the time, which is 100% wrong. We’ll talk more about pitching in the Strategy section but there’s no need to grab him with your first pick.
- Rounding out your first round was Trout, JD Martinez (until he was marked out of the line up), Benintendi, Goldschmidt, DeGrom, and Blackmon.
- 100% drafted today: Trout, Beinintendi, Goldschmidt, Blackmon, Springer, Pham, and Lindor. Only 46% of the field was solid chalk tonight. This means there are a lot of directions to Draft this week.

Draft Projections & Rankings
The default draft rankings by position in Draft for their top positions. While most of these would be solid plays, they are vastly different than our projections and grades we developed in house at DFS Army where take into account many different metrics that these do not. Combining our brand new Starting Lineups Page, Domination Station, Articles, and research station, you can quickly see where some players in absolute smash spots should be drafted higher than what’s on this list.

Strategy
- Let’s talk pitching. Tonight there are 4 (arguably 5) solid pitching options tonight. Looking at the K props your top 3 are all 8 or 8.5K’s tonight. Which means if you assume they all go 6-7 innings and get the win, the point differential will be negligible. Do yourself a favor and get a leg up on your competition and leave your pitcher choice to last.
- Outfield has the most scarcity tonight again, but not by much. There’s more than enough viable players in each position, just less elite players available as compared to Infield. Our base strategy of going 1x OF 1x IF is in play tonight. I’m ok having guys #3-#6 on my roster tonight in any order.
- As usual, there are a few players that are popping on our projections today that we’ll talk about in Slack more extensively. with #FreebieFriday you can go see where some of our players are in comparison to get an idea of where we might be going.
I’ll be posting my personal recommendations and comparisons to our projections in our Premium Slack services before lock.
