Jaguar Lou’s GPP Jamboree - MLB DFS Picks Stacks and Advice for Fanduel and Draftkings

Welcome to the GPP Jamboree!  This article will be providing my top three GPP plays at Pitcher and my top three stackable teams for GPP formats. Before we start, a pack of Jaguars is called a Jamboree…There, does the name of the article make sense now? Good! I’m a funny guy, people call me funny Louie. Alright no one calls me funny Louie, but regardless, here are my top main slate plays for Monday, May 21st.

Don’t forget to follow me on Twitter and, if you are already a VIP at DFS Army then drop in my channel #jaguarlou to say hi.  I love hearing from VIPs and Twitter followers when things go well.  If you aren’t a VIP, there is an easy way to get a free month to test us out.  We have all the content, tools, a wicked good optimizer, and the most accessible coaches in the industry just waiting to help you become a better player.  Follow this link to our PlayDraft page and give the snake draft format a try.  It’s not for everyone, but it’s the simplest way to test the DFS Army.  Why not use it for that?

MLB DFS Jamboree GPP Pitchers

Walker Buehler had his first poor outing last week against the Miami Marlins after a great start to the season. Don’t let a bad prior start get you off a great pitcher. Buehler is a safe play and has a solid matchup against a Colorado team that does not play well on the road. I mean maybe that’s because their home stadium, Coors Field, might as well be the sandlot, but that’s a conversation for another day. The Los Angeles Dodgers are -185 with a 7 under-over.

Chase Anderson is coming straight off the DL to face a Diamondbacks team who he has actually owned in the past, allowing a mere .146 batting average in 56 at bats, Anderson is a sneaky play with massive upside. All week, we have been targeting Arizona as they have been strikeout at an alarming rate as of late. Try saying that five times in a row. Chase Anderson is the riskiest of my picks but actually finds himself in a great spot in his first start since May 6th. Anderson could very well be low-owned and at a low salary, this is the kind of play that will take down a GPP tournament. The Milwaukee Brewers are slight underdogs with an 8 under-over.

Gio Gonzalez would be the conventional play as he is in elite Pitcher facing the San Diego Padres, a team that has struck out 258 times on the season, ranking them second worst in the league. Gonzalez seems to be the safest play on the slate, but I do see better value such as Buehler & Anderson, so I might be staying away in GPP formats. Cash wise, you should feel safe locking him in. The Washington Nationals are favored by -180 with a 7.5 under-over.

MLB DFS Jamboree GPP Stacks

The Milwaukee Brewers are my favorite stack of the night! Why? Could it be just a hunch? Or could it be the fact that Zack Greinke has a 7.27 road era? Or that’s he’s facing a Brewers team that leads the league in runs since their last meeting on May 15th, just five days ago? Greinke allows more points to opposing lefties, although I have no problem rostering certain right-handed batters within a Milwaukee stack. I love stacking teams that have just seen the opposing starter in his last start. The Brewers could be a sneaky, low-owned, high upside stack. Some might even be rostering Greinke, which I think would be a huge mistake. The Arizona Diamondbacks are favored by -124 with an 8 under-over.

The Baltimore Orioles have great BvP (Batter vs Pitcher) stats as a team against Hector Santiago, batting .293 with six homeruns in 93 at bats. Valencia, Trumbo, Jones, Machado, Rickard and Schoop are all viable plays. This would be a great max stack on DraftKings (although you’d have to drop one because DK only allows five players max from one team). Santiago allows big numbers to not only righties but lefties as well, so maybe Chris Davis can get out of his slump. I see the Orioles putting up some serious numbers against Hector Santiago and the Chicago White Sox bullpen that owns a 4.45 era on the season, ranking them 23rd in the league. The Orioles are favored at -110 with a 9.5 under-over.

Detroit Tigers also have solid BvP stats against opposing pitcher Jose Berrios. Yes, Berrios is a talented righty and normally you wouldn’t target a hard throwing righty with a team filled with righties, but tomorrow night’s game is the exception. McCann, Mahtook, Iglesias & Castellanos would be the perfect Detroit stack and should be extremely cheap. The Tigers are underdogs at -200 with an 8.5 under- over. This should be a contrarian play.
