This article focuses primarily on 3-Man snake draft strategy. Reason being is that you can easily apply this information to H2H as well as widen up to 4-Man contests, which is the average size of the daily GPPs. I’m going to break down what I saw in 20-30 drafts today and how we can exploit our opponents using our tools over on DFS Army.

Quick Trends (20 game sample)

  • It’s all about the big apple today. First round picks was Judge as the overall #1 pick 100% of the time followed by a mix of Stanton and Sanchez. Pham, and Machado rounded out the rankings
  • Pitchers on average were last to be drafted with a core of four different players.
  • Infield again today had the most directions you could go with with outfield being the scarcest. The reason being is that many players who would be considered outfield by other sites fall to infield on Draft.

Draft Projections & Rankings

Here’s the default draft rankings by position in Draft for their top positions. While most of these would be solid plays, they are vastly different than our projections and grades we developed in house at DFS Army where take into account many different metrics that these do not. Combining our brand new Starting Lineups Page, Domination Station, Articles, and research station, you can quickly see where some players in absolute smash spots should be drafted higher than what’s on this list.

Strategy

  • Pitching is fine again until your last pick. No one seemed to be in a rush to grab any particular pitcher besides me because:
  • Infield has such a wide net of players today, I left a spot open until the last pick. Our number 4 projected player on the entire slate went 100% undrafted unless I picked him up. I’ll be dropping that piece of knowledge in our slack chat today
  • Notables going undrafted so you can differentiate yourself in drafts: Carpenter, entire NYM roster, Puig, and Kemp.
  • Outside the lines strategy: You could fade the whole NYY order and if they don’t produce, you’ll be way ahead of the game.

I’ll be posting my personal recommendations and comparisons to our projections in our Premium Slack services before lock.
