This article focuses primarily on 3-Man snake draft strategy. Reason being is that you can easily apply this information to H2H as well as widen up to 4-Man contests, which is the average size of the daily GPPs. I’m going to break down what I saw in 20-30 drafts today and how we can exploit our opponents using our tools over on DFS Army.

Quick Trends (20 game sample)

  • It’s not everyday you see the field fade a stacked offense. NYY line up went nearly undrafted, except when I grabbed a lone Judge now and then to make my line ups a little different. While they’re facing a solid pitcher tonight and are a dog, he’s still a force to be reckoned with. Look at his trends over the past 7 games.
  • The same names graced the top drafted list with Tour going overall #1, followed by Blackmon, Arenado, and Martinez
  • 100% ers: Trout, Blackmon, Arenado, Martinez, Harper, McCutchen, Benintendi, Lindor, Ramierez, and Maeda. 10 out of 15 spots or 67% of all teams are made up of the same players.

Draft Projections & Rankings

Here’s the default draft rankings by position in Draft for their top positions. While most of these would be solid plays, they are vastly different than our projections and grades we developed in house at DFS Army where take into account many different metrics that these do not. Combining our brand new Starting Lineups Page, Domination Station, Articles, and research station, you can quickly see where some players in absolute smash spots should be drafted higher than what’s on this list.

Strategy

  • I’m leaving pitching until last and so did all of the other sharp players today. There’s more than three viable options and no one is head and shoulders above everyone else. Maeda might be the safest, but pitching scores are relatively flat in projections today
  • No scarcity in hitters either. The name of the game today is pivots. 7 players have props to go yard at +300 or less and 4 of them went undrafted if I didn’t pick them up.
  • We’ll be covering some guys that went unowned today in slack and how to attack it. There’s room for some creative drafting today that hasn’t been available in the past two weeks.

I’ll be posting my personal recommendations and comparisons to our projections in our Premium Slack services before lock.
