This article focuses primarily on 3-Man snake draft strategy. Reason being is that you can easily apply this information to H2H as well as widen up to 4-Man contests, which is the average size of the daily GPPs. I’m going to break down what I saw in 20-30 drafts today and how we can exploit our opponents using our tools over on DFS Army.

Quick Trends

  • Stanton and Betts were drafting in the first round 100% of the time
  • People drafted regardless of PPD situation which you can monitor on our Weather Station
  • 13 players or 4.3% of the total drafted player pool. This shows you how chalky Snake drafts can be
  • Lindor, Harper, and Ramierez were drafted 95% of the time

Draft Projections & Rankings

Here’s the default draft rankings by position in Draft for their top positions. While most of these would be solid plays, they are vastly different than our projections and grades we developed in house at DFS Army where take into account many different metrics that these do not. Combining our brand new Starting Lineups Page, Domination Station, Articles, and research station, you can quickly see where some players in absolute smash spots should be drafted higher than what’s on this list.  Not a member yet? use code UW81 for a 10% discount when you sign up today or are you new to Draft? Draft Player Rankings by position

  • Personally I’ll be looking at a few guys outside this list like Encarnacion, Gallo, Herrera, and Cruz.
  • Infield and Outfield players listed here were all drafted at least once showing their pre-set rankings have sway over your opponents strategy
  • Tanaka was left out in the cold drafted in 0 of 20 contests.

Strategy

  • Our highest projected player of the day went un-drafted unless I picked him up in the last round.
DFS Army Projections - Eugenio Suarez
  • If you want Cole, you’ll need to grab him in the first round. He fell outside the first round in only 15% (3) drafts.
  • Super sneaky play today is Justin Turner. He’s currently marked as on the DL in Draft, even though he’s slated to hit 3rd in the posted line up. No one drafted him except me. Over on the Dong Detector article, he’s the first guy mentioned.
  • You’ll need to tailor your drafting to your opponents. I recommend targeting Stanton, Betts, Lindor, Harper, and Ramierez early as players many other solid players are going un- drafted or near the end of the draft.

I’ll be posting my personal recommendations and comparisons to our projections in our Premium Slack services before lock.
