**Before we get started I just want to show you exactly what we have upcoming for the NFL season. Football is upon us and whether it’s season-long fantasy football or DFS, the staff here at DFS Army has you covered. If this link doesn’t make you so excited that you want to run through a brick wall then I don’t know what will. Here is what is in-store for the 2017 NFL season.
This article is going to mesh what my normal notebook of research would look like with the presentation in a more articulate demonstration. Trust me, you don’t want to lay your eyes on my notebook. It resembles my toddler’s “drawings” of me and her mother. This “research notebook” will also give you a look into my personal process as a full-time guaranteed prize pool (GPP) competitor. Try not to get lost in the minutia of the numbers and enjoy the deep data dive. By the end, you will have a nice insider peek at my player pool for the main slate. *All statistics referenced are over the past month vs opposite handedness of the pitcher or batter.
OAK@BAL
- Tim Beckham – .484 wOBA and .308 ISO
- Manny Machado – .385 wOBA and .282 ISO
- Jonathan Schoop – .372 wOBA and .203 ISO
- Adam Jones – .351 wOBA and .200 ISO
- Trey Mancini – .373 wOBA and .355 ISO
CHC@CIN
- Jon Jay – .395 wOBA and .146 ISO
- Kyle Schwarber – .348 wOBA and .283 ISO
- Kris Bryant – .477 wOBA and .279 ISO
- Javier Baez – .367 wOBA and .341 ISO
- Joey Votto – .548 wOBA and .298 ISO for large field GPP
- Scooter Gennett – .273 wOBA and .119 ISO for large field GPP
TOR@TAM
- Chris Archer is my top pitcher on the entire slate
- Fading Tampa offense as they have a .265 wOBA and .140 ISO vs R over the past month
ARI@NYM
- David Peralta, A.J. Pollock, Paul Goldschmidt, J.D. Martinez, and Jake Lamb are all excellent plays versus Tommy Milone
- Fading the Mets against Patrick Corbin who is a nice large field GPP play
BOS@CLE
- Boston lefties for large field GPPs only, Andrew Benintendi and Rafael Devers specifically
- Cleveland lefties make a nice stack. Target the Indians lefties, Francisco Lindor, Jason Kipnis, Jose Ramirez, and Jay Bruce. Carlos Santana is my favorite one-off from this offense if you fade the Indians.
NYY@DET
- Tanaka is a great small field GPP option
- Gary Sanchez is an excellent one-off but I am fading the hitters in this game
SEA@ATL
- This is a great game stack opportunity for large field GPPs
- Yonder Alonso, Robinson Cano, Kyle Seager and Mike Zunino
- Brandon Phillips, Matt Kemp, Tyler Flowers/Kurt Suzuki
MIN@CHW
- Jose Abreu is again one of my favorite one-off plays
- Brian Dozier, Max Kepler (if active), Eduardo Escobar, Eddie Rosario all make a nice four man stack for large field GPPs

WAS@HOU
- Tanner Roark and Charlie Morton are superb large field GPP plays as both offenses are public favorites to stack
SDP@STL
- Lancy Lynn is an excellent small field GPP pitcher
- The STL righties are in a superb spot at home
- Target Tommy Pham, Paul DeJong, Dexter Fowler, Yadier Molina, and Jedd Gyorko for massive large field GPP upside with low ownership
COL@KCR
- Tough game to focus on as both pitchers do well enough to limit damage and can sometimes throw a gem
- Fading the offenses and both pitchers are sub optimal large field GPPs
TEX@LAA
- I don’t understand the IRT of 4.4 runs for the Rangers. They should go nuts on Ricky Nolasco of the Angels
- Stack up the lefties, Shin-Soo Choo, Nomar Mazara, Rougned Odor and sprinkle in Elvis Andrus and Adrian Beltre.
- Tyson Ross could have some trouble with the Angels Mike Trout, Kole Calhoun, Luis Valbuena
MIL@SFG
- I love Jimmy Nelson and he’s my favorite pitcher on the slate
- Fading both offenses
