**Before we get started I just want to show you exactly what we have upcoming for the NFL season. Football is upon us and whether it’s season-long fantasy football or DFS, the staff here at DFS Army has you covered. This article is going to mesh what my normal notebook of research would look like with the presentation in a more articulate demonstration. Trust me, you don’t want to lay your eyes on my notebook. It resembles my toddler’s “drawings” of me and her mother. This “research notebook” will also give you a look into my personal process as a full-time guaranteed prize pool (GPP) competitor. Try not to get lost in the minutia of the numbers and enjoy the deep data dive. Pitcher
- I am locking in Chris Sale who I think should be incredibly successful today against the Blue Jays. It’s a huge slate and it won’t be difficult to find value hitters to go along with the pitcher I believe will score the most points. His salary has also dropped by $600 on Fanduel.
- His analytics show that he isn’t really pitching any worse over his last three starts. The Indians roughed him up for the second time this season and the Yanks hit two home runs off him that ruined an otherwise flawless day.
- Over the past three games, he has a 94.7 MPH pitch speed, which is 0.9 MPH faster than his season long average
- He has a 69% strike ratio which is 1% better than his season long average
- His opponent hard hit rate is 31%, you guessed it, right in line with his season long average
Value Hitters
- Welington Castillo has a .402 wOBA and .318 ISO
- Ben Gamel is $2,000 and scored 35.70 points against Baltimore on Monday night against Chris Tillman
- Michael Taylor has a .313 wOBA and .197 ISO against righties this season
- Jayson Werth is back in the lineup and has a .341 wOBA and .184 ISO against righties this season. I like the idea of mini-stacking Taylor and Werth
- J.T. Realmuto has a .324 wOBA and .168 ISO and bats in the middle of the lineup
- Jose Ramirez and Brandon Guyer could both be batting near the top of the lineup and are below $3,000 on Fanduel. They are an excellent mini-stack against the left-hander, Jaime Garcia
- Eduardo Nunez, Hanley Ramirez, Rajai Davis, and Chris Young have a nice splits advantage against Brett Anderson and are all less than $3,000 on Fanduel
- Scott Schebler is a nice one-off as he has crushed right-handed pitchers over the past month with a .447 wOBA and 370 ISO. He also has a low strikeout rate as it currently sits at 12.5% using our splits.
