**Before we get started I just want to show you exactly what we have upcoming for the NFL season. Football is upon us and whether it’s season-long fantasy football or DFS, the staff here at DFS Army has you covered. If this link doesn’t make you so excited that you want to run through a brick wall then I don’t know what will. Here is what is in-store for the 2017 NFL season.
This article is going to mesh what my normal notebook of research would look like with the presentation in a more articulate demonstration. Trust me, you don’t want to lay your eyes on my notebook. It resembles my toddler’s “drawings” of me and her mother. This “research notebook” will also give you a look into my personal process as a full-time guaranteed prize pool (GPP) competitor. Try not to get lost in the minutia of the numbers and enjoy the deep data dive. By the end, you will have a nice insider peek at my player pool for the main slate. *All statistics referenced are over the past month vs opposite handedness of the pitcher or batter.

CHC@CIN
- Sal Romano is struggling against righties and has allowed a .427 wOBA and .280 ISO with a 14.8% strikeout rate
- Target Javier Baez who owns a .341 wOBA and .367 ISO and Kris Bryant if he is active
- Jake Arrieta is in good form and is an excellent GPP choice
BOS@CLE
- Trevor Bauer has limited righties to a .248 wOBA and .088 ISO while allowing lefties to hit for a .374 wOBA and .283 ISO. His strikeout rate is over 27.8% for both sides of the plate.
- Target the Red Sox lefties for GPPs, specifically Andrew Benintendi and Rafael Devers
- Chris Sale is always an elite cash gameplay and GPP play. He has an incredible floor and ceiling and he’s always in play. However, there is another pitcher I am rolling out for cash games.
SDP@STL
- Carlos Martinez is in a superb spot for cash games and offers a little salary relief if you choose him instead of Sale
- I am only on two bats from the Cardinals offense, Dexter Fowler, and Paul DeJong. Fowler owns a .480 wOBA and .412 ISO and DeJong owns a .427 wOBA and .270 ISO. They are an excellent two man mini-stack for both cash and GPP contests.
WAS@HOU
- Dallas Keuchel has allowed righties to have a .440 wOBA and .234 ISO and lefties to have a .353 wOBA and .200 ISO. This puts the Nationals in GPP territory.
- How Kendrick has a .442 wOBA and .313 ISO and I really like stacking him with Wilmer Difo and Ryan Zimmerman.
- I am fading the Astros offense against Strasburg who looked exceptional in his return from the DL

MIN@CHW
- Jose Berrios is an excellent large field GPP option.
- The Twins righties are in a phenomenal spot against Derek Holland. Holland owns a 6.26 SIERA against righties and a .464 wOBA over the past month.
- Brian Dozier, Eduardo Escobar, and Byron Buxton are my favorite three man stack of the day. I will load them up for cash games and GPPs.
TEX@LAA
- The Angels bats are in a great spot against Martin Perez. Martin struggles against right-handed hitters and has allowed a .395 wOBA and .272 ISO with a minuscule 9.2% strikeout rate.
- Cameron Maybin, Mike Trout, Albert Pujols, and Andrelton Simmons are an excellent four man stack for large field GPPs.
- I am off the Rangers bats simply because they aren’t necessary with the amount of other affordable stacks.
