Defenses to Stream – Week 6 NFL Fantasy Football

DFS Army’s Gthom goes over the defenses to stream this week. The defenses to stream listed below are normally found in at least 40-percent of leagues (prior to waivers).

Chiefs D/ST vs Denver Broncos

Available in 48% of Sleeper Leagues

The top stream of the week is the Chiefs D/ST who are taking on the Denver Broncos. Denver’s offense has been able to put up points this season, but they have failed to take care of the football which can boost a team like Kansas City.

Although the Broncos’ offense has been better in 2023, their turnover issues and weak O-line make them an ideal target for Kansas City. With eight turnovers in five games, the Broncos are tied for the fourth-highest in the league. Meanwhile, they have also allowed the sixth-most sacks, which could mean big points for the Chiefs D/ST. Denver is also 27th in fantasy points above expectation allowed per game to D/ST’s and they allow the 12th most fantasy points to D/ST’s (8-FPPG).

The Chiefs D/ST is playing well this season, scoring at least five fantasy points each week. They have secured six turnovers as a defense, with at least one per week. In addition, they have generated 13 sacks this season, a middling total. KC’s D/ST is tied for the 14th most fantasy points this season.

The Broncos’ turnover struggles and their inability to protect the quarterback makes the Chiefs the best widely available defense in Week 6 for fantasy managers.

Falcons D/ST vs Washington Commanders

Available in 94% of Sleeper Leagues

The Falcons D/ST? Sounds gross considering they have not scored more than three fantasy points as a defense over the last four weeks. The good news is they will match up against a struggling Commanders team.

The Commanders feel like an auto-start for opposing D/ST’s. Through 2023 they are tied for the third-most turnovers in the NFL with 10. Further, Washington has allowed the second most sacks at 29. Coming in as the 29th best defense against opposing D/ST’s, Washington allows an average of six fantasy points above expectation (31st best).

The Falcons’ defense does not have much to write home about. They had a solid Week 1 where they amassed 13 fantasy points. Since their great start they have failed to provide serviceable fantasy outcomes. The Falcons have the fourth fewest fantasy points as a defense when compared to the NFL.

While this Atlanta defense struggles to sack the quarterback and create turnovers, Washington’s inability to protect the football, or the quarterback for that matter, should get the Falcons D/ST the points needed to provide value.

Jaguars D/ST vs Indianapolis Colts

Available in 86% of Sleeper Leagues

While a backup quarterback normally screams an auto-start for D/ST streamers, the Colts’ backup quarterback, Gardner Minshew, is better than most. Despite this, fantasy managers can find value in the Jags D/ST in Week 6.

Outside of one bad performance, the Jags have provided value to fantasy managers. They have scored as many as 21 fantasy points in a contest. They also create turnovers and have logged 11 so far in 2023, tied for the second most. Currently they are ranked as the 13th best fantasy defense for total fantasy points scored.

Most of Indianapolis’ metrics are with their starting quarterback under center, but they have been tough to generate points against. Through their first five games they are the eighth best team against opposing D/ST’s, allowing 4.4-FPPG.

In a week without many slam-dunk streaming options, the Jaguars defense can be trusted against the Colts in Week 6.
