Studs and Stacks: NHL Building Blocks for DraftKings and FanDuel - November 2

NHL Building Blocks for November 2

In this article, we spotlight today’s top NHL DFS studs and stack recommendations, focusing on high-upside players and synergistic line combinations that can elevate your lineups. Whether you’re targeting cash games or GPPs, these picks are designed to maximize value and exposure. Let’s dive into the matchups and identify the key players to target.

SKATERS
Center: Macklin Celebrini
Celebrini has cooled off a bit after his explosive start, with just one point over his last four games. He was held off the scoresheet Saturday against Ottawa, managing two shots in 19:43 of ice time. Still, he has 16 points (five goals and 11 assists) through 13 games and continues to shoulder a huge offensive workload for San Jose. Calgary is a favorable opportunity to get things moving again, and his shot volume and playmaking keep the ceiling high.
Other: Nathan MacKinnon, Jack Eichel

Winger: David Pastrnak
Pastrnak found the scoresheet again Saturday with a goal and four shots in Boston’s 5–4 win over Chicago. He has 19 points (eight goals and 11 assists) through 15 games, and his ability to generate shots gives him a strong floor even when the multi-point games aren’t coming. Vegas is a tougher matchup, but Pastrnak remains the focal point of Boston’s offense and a high-upside option.
Other: Mark Stone, Matthew Tkachuk

Defense: Cale Makar
Makar erupted for four assists in Saturday’s 5–2 win over Calgary, giving him 19 points through 14 games. He also put three shots on goal and logged more than 24 minutes. That performance is a reminder of how quickly Makar can take over a slate from the blue line. Chicago is next, and with his workload and power-play role, he’s an elite defenseman target.
Other: Charlie McAvoy, Moritz Seider

Goalie: Mackenzie Blackwood
Blackwood stopped 25 of 27 shots Saturday in Colorado’s 5–2 win over Calgary, earning his sixth victory of the season. He has been solid lately, allowing just four goals combined over his last two starts against New Jersey and Calgary. Chicago is the next opponent, and with Colorado playing well in front of him, Blackwood offers a strong win opportunity without needing an enormous save total to get there.
Other: Jeremy Swayman, Akira Schmid

Value: Michael Brandsegg-Nygaard
Brandsegg-Nygård has put together a nice stretch of production for a young player, totaling eight points (two goals and six assists) through 14 games. Five of those points have come over his last 10 outings, including a two-assist performance against Vancouver. He was quiet Saturday against St. Louis, but his steady role and recent contributions make him worth considering as a value option. The salary savings are the appeal here rather than expecting a huge individual ceiling.
Other: James Hagens, Trevor Connelly

STACKS
Full: FLA (Reinhard-M. Tkachuk-B. Tkachuk)
Florida’s trio brings plenty of scoring and physicality, with Matthew Tkachuk leading the way as a playmaker and Brady supplying a more direct shooting threat. Matthew has 20 points through 14 games, while Brady has 15 points, including eight goals. Reinhart adds another proven finisher to the group. Detroit is the matchup, and after Florida put five goals past Winnipeg in each of its last two meetings, this offense has plenty of momentum.
Other: COL (MacKinnon-Necas-Lehkonen), BOS (Pastrnak-Zacha-Peterka)

Mini: VGK (Eichel-Stone)
Eichel and Stone remain one of the most productive combinations in the league, combining for 37 points through 15 games. Eichel has 20 points (seven goals and 13 assists), while Stone has 17 (nine goals and eight assists). The recent production has been a little quieter for Eichel, but the overall numbers speak for themselves. Boston is a challenging opponent, though the Bruins have allowed plenty of shots, giving this duo opportunities to create offense.
Other: DET (DeBrincat-Raymond), CGY (Farabee-Coronato)
