Dolphins D/ST vs New York Giants
Available in 64% of Sleeper Leagues
During their Week 4 game against the Seahawks, the Giants struggled, giving up 11 sacks, two interceptions, one fumble, and one defensive touchdown. Seattle ended up scoring 30 fantasy points.
Overall, New York has been bad at slowing down opposing defenses. They are 32nd best in both fantasy points allowed per game (19.8) and in fantasy points above expectation (8.5). They’ve also allowed two opposing fantasy defenses to score 30 points or more.
Miami’s defensive production for fantasy purposes has been inconsistent. While they’ve been able to score double-digit fantasy points against weaker offenses, they’ve struggled against premium offenses like the Chargers and the Bills. Fortunately for Miami, the Giants have allowed the second most sacks this season and are tied for fourth in turnovers.
Commanders D/ST vs Chicago Bears
Available in 86% of Sleeper Leagues
The Bears have struggled this season. Against opposing D/ST’s they rank 31st in fantasy points allowed per game. Additionally, they allow 6.6 fantasy points above expectation to opposing D/STs, which is the second-worst in the league. The main contributors to this poor performance are their 17 sacks allowed (third-worst) and eight turnovers (tied for fourth-worst). In fact, opposing fantasy defenses have scored 15, 17, 11, and 13 fantasy points against the Bears in their previous games.
On the other hand, the Commanders defense has been a solid choice for fantasy football managers. Amongst the D/ST position, they are currently tied for the 13th most fantasy points on the season with a total of 30. They’ve had two double-digit fantasy finishes and even managed to score eight points against a tough Eagles offense. Washington’s defense has been particularly effective at sacking the quarterback (13 sacks) which ties them for sixth-best in the league.
Colts D/ST vs Tennessee Titans
Available in 90% of Sleeper Leagues
Tennessee continues to be a team to target with opposing fantasy defenses. They allow 8.3 fantasy points per game, but on the road their metrics get worse. In a two-game sample size as visitors they are allowing 12-FPPG and an average of four fantasy points above expectation. The Titans are also tied for the fourth most sacks allowed and average one giveaway per contest.
On the other hand, the Indianapolis Colts are a reliable team defense for fantasy, currently tied for 10th in the NFL with 32 total fantasy points. Although they allow opponents to score, they make up for it by racking up multiple sacks in each game, tied for fifth most in the NFL. Additionally, the Colts have secured six turnovers, which is tied for eighth in the league.
If you’re looking for a solid fantasy defense, the Colts are a good choice with their consistent performance in generating sacks and turnovers. Meanwhile, the Titans’ vulnerability on the road makes them a prime target for opposing defenses.
