Studs and Stacks: NHL Building Blocks for DFS – April 7

Studs and Stacks – April 7

In this article, we spotlight today’s top NHL DFS studs and stack recommendations, focusing on high-upside players and synergistic line combinations that can elevate your lineups. Whether you’re targeting cash games or GPPs, these picks are designed to maximize value and exposure. Let’s dive into the matchups and identify the key players to target.

STUDS
The Center: Nathan MacKinnon
A win tonight for Mac and the Avs would all but guarantee them home ice throughout the playoffs, and it’s a good matchup as well against a Blues team that doesn’t intimidate.  Look for him to lead the team to victory in this one.

The Wing: Kirill Kaprizov
Kap said a few games ago that he needed to play better, and he has: hat trick last game and eight points in his last four.  Wild have a chance to overtake Dallas for the #2 spot in the West and a win here against Seattle on the second half of a back-t0-back would help that cause.  Oh…he’s tied for third in the league in goals as well.

The Defenseman: Mikhail Sergachev
Little under-the-radar play here, but Utah gets an Oilers team that can’t play defense and Sergachev has nine assists in his last four games (and this is a sneaky game stack situation as well).

The Value: Ryan Hartman
Not cheap on his own, but with six goals and three assists in his last five games, he’s playing his best hockey of the season.

STACKS
The Full: DAL (Robertson-Rantanen-Johnston)
These three are skating together at even strength as well as on the power play, and they’re looking to stay ahead of the Wild for home ice in their first-round series.  Great matchup tonight against Calgary.

The Mini: MON (Caufield-Suzuki)
Suzuki is on pace for over 100 points and Caufield is one away from 50 goals (and two behind MacKinnon for the league lead); Montreal gets a Florida team that’s officially done.
