Studs and Stacks: Building Blocks for DFS – March 8

Studs and Stacks – March 8

In this article, we spotlight today’s top NHL DFS studs and stack recommendations, focusing on high-upside players and synergistic line combinations that can elevate your lineups. Whether you’re targeting cash games or GPPs, these picks are designed to maximize value and exposure. Let’s dive into the matchups and identify the key players to target.

STUDS
The Center: Tage Thompson
Five goals and five assists during a nine-game point streak for Thompson, and the Sabres are really in the thick of it for the division; they’re getting their biggest competition for that title on the second half of a back-to-back as well.

The Wing: Jason Robertson
Any line I’m making tonight starts with a Star (or three), and Robertson is one that I want a lot of exposure to: his floor is high and his ceiling is as well.  Ninth in the league in shots, ninth in points, and tied for sixth in goals.

The Defenseman: Evan Bouchard
Can’t argue with how Bouchard has been producing offensively, that’s for sure: he leads all defensemen in scoring this season.  Both Edmonton and Vegas are scrambling to hold onto a playoff spot and neither team has been playing well defensively.

The Value: Andrew Copp
With Dylan Larkin out for the next couple of weeks, he’s going to get more opportunities with some of the big names; the Devils aren’t that good defensively, either.

STACKS
The Full: DAL (Robertson-Johnston-Benn-Duchene)
The Stars are the hottest team in the league right now despite losing a 10-game winning streak in gross fashion last game; still, they’ve got a great matchup tonight at home against a weak Blackhawks squad.  Love this quartet (and with Hintz likely out, the scoring is condensed even more).

The Mini: EDM (McDavid-Bouchard)
Four goals (three from the latter) and 15 assists between them over their last five games; Vegas is not looking good, so this is a chance for the Oilers to improve their positioning and make up some ground on the team directly in front of them in the standings.
