Studs and Stacks: Building Blocks for DFS – March 4

Studs and Stacks – March 4

In this article, we spotlight today’s top NHL DFS studs and stack recommendations, focusing on high-upside players and synergistic line combinations that can elevate your lineups. Whether you’re targeting cash games or GPPs, these picks are designed to maximize value and exposure. Let’s dive into the matchups and identify the key players to target.

STUDS
The Center: Jack Hughes
Hughes has been a little cold since coming back to earth after the Olympics, but the Devils are facing the tire fire that is the Maple Leafs, who he’s scored against seven times in 14 career games. Smaller slate, so I don’t mind a shot here on a ceiling performance.

The Wing: Lucas Raymond
Might be the Wings’ best overall offensive player as he’s averaging over a point per game this season; two goals and four assists in his last five, and the Wings get Vegas on the second half of a road back-t0-back.

Jan 12, 2025; Detroit, Michigan, USA; Detroit Red Wings forward Dylan Larkin (71) heads to the bench after celebrating his power play goal against the Seattle Kraken with forward Alex DeBrincat (93), forward Lucas Raymond (23), and defenseman Moritz Seider (53) during the second period at Little Caesars Arena. The Defenseman: Matthew Schaefer
The kid is ridiculous, notching five goals and adding two assists over his last five games and is on pace to break the rookie defenseman record for goals scored (he needs three more to tie Brian Leetch and could easily get one tonight).

The Value: Tony Deangelo
Four assists in his last three games; he gets a lot of peripherals as well.

STACKS
The Full: CAR (Aho-Jarvis-Svechnikov)
The chalk stack of the slate and for good reason: they’re facing an abysmal Canucks team.  The ceiling is definitely there for this group in one of the only two 6.5 game total spots tonight.

The Mini: DET (Larkin-Raymond)
Detroit is going to want to do everything it can to prevent its usual March meltdown, and a strong showing tonight could go a long way; these two have such good chemistry and have five goals and seven helpers over the Wings’ last five games.
