Studs and Stacks for October 20, 2025: DraftKings & FanDuel Picks

Studs and Stacks – October 20

As the 2025–26 NHL season kicks off, daily fantasy hockey enthusiasts are gearing up for the action on DraftKings and FanDuel. In this article, we spotlight today’s top NHL DFS studs and stack recommendations, focusing on high-upside players and synergistic line combinations that can elevate your lineups. Whether you’re targeting cash games or GPPs, these picks are designed to maximize value and exposure. Let’s dive into the matchups and identify the key players to target.

FORWARDS

The Stud: Jack Eichel
Leading the league in scoring, and even though he’s in a tough matchup, I don’t mind him here at all.

The Pivot: Kirill Kaprizov
Off to a fast start, but Kap and the Wild have been stuck in neutral the last couple of games.  Still, his ceiling is sky high.  The Rangers haven’t been that impressive defensively (and neither has Minnesota, which could lead to an offensive shootout).

The Low-Owned: Tage Thompson
Very underrated superstar, but that’s because he’s in Buffalo.  Montreal’s defense can give up goals from time to time, and he’s got a nice ceiling on this small slate.  He’ll go overlooked a bit with some of the other studs on the slate, which is nice from a tournament perspective.

The Value: Josh Doan
Two goals and three assists in five games; 15 shots as well (second on the team).

STACKS

The Full: WPG (Connor-Scheifele-Vilardi-Iafallo)
The Jets’ main players are playing well as usual, with this quartet combining for 10 goals and 14 assists in five games.  Solid spot on the road against the Flames as well.  Might be a little overlooked compared to Vegas and Minnesota, but they’re in just as good of a spot as those elite offenses.

The Mini: VGK (Eichel-Stone)
I like the ability to get a piece of this game without going too heavy, and these two are together in all three situations.  They’re also 1-2 in the league in scoring.
