As the 2025–26 NHL season kicks off, daily fantasy hockey enthusiasts are gearing up for the action on DraftKings and FanDuel. In this article, we spotlight today’s top NHL DFS studs and stack recommendations, focusing on high-upside players and synergistic line combinations that can elevate your lineups. Whether you’re targeting cash games or GPPs, these picks are designed to maximize value and exposure. Let’s dive into the matchups and identify the key players to target.
FORWARDS
The Stud: Sam Reinhart
Reinhart has picked up where he left off, with two goals and an assist through four games while also taking 13 shots. His offensive and defensive ability give him a great floor and high ceiling, especially in this matchup against a bad Detroit team.
The Pivot: Tage Thompson
Thompson has only scored once through Buffalo’s first three games, but the fact that he’s taken 18 shots gives him a great floor. Ottawa’s defense is bad and they will also be playing without Brady Tkachuk for the next month or so, and while the Sabres’ offense isn’t terribly efficient, he’s in a good enough spot tonight on this small slate to definitely consider.

The Low-Owned: Dylan Larkin
The Wings’ captain continues to play well, notching two goals (12 shots) and adding an assist through their first three games. Detroit’s scoring goes through its top lines, and he’s an integral part of that.
The Value: Anton Lundell
Two goals and two assists for Lundell, who always seems to be a solid play for not that much. He centers L2 with Reinhart and also centers PP2.
STACKS
The Full: FLA (Reinhart-Bennett-Verhaeghe-Marchand)
You can mix and match these four (or in some builds fit them all together) as the Wings’ defense hasn’t really made any improvements over the offseason, and this is a great spot for the Panther offense to really get it going.
The Mini: CHI (Nazar-Teravainen)
A goal and four assists for each of them, and no one looks to Chicago as a source of offense. It’s a tougher matchup tonight, but they’re cheap and interesting.
