“It’s been a long time. I shouldn’t have left you… without a dope beat to step to.”
Welcome back to Part the Cloud. It’s Week 7, and receiving rooms are in flux — which is great news for our lineups.
The Film Room
Let’s take a quick look back at the past two weeks to evaluate how the process held up.
Keenan Allen (DK: 1.6x, FD: 1.3x)
Led the team with 9 targets, finishing with 58 yards. Both he and Ladd saw 2 red zone targets — but only Ladd converted. Solid usage, just lacked the payoff.
Tre Tucker (DK: 2.2x, FD: 1.4x)
Decent outing: 4 catches for 62 yards. Not terrible, but not what we needed. The entire Raiders offense underperformed.
Rasheed Shaheed
-
Week 5 (DK: 5.4x, FD: 4.2x) — 4 catches on 5 targets for 114 yards and a TD. Nailed it. Just how we drew it up.
-
Week 6 (DK: 1.5x, FD: 0.83x) — Different story. Expected the deep role, but he stayed underneath while Olave got the vertical work. Not his usual deployment.
DK Metcalf (DK: 3.5x, FD: 2.5x)
Saw 9 targets, hauled in 4 for 95 yards and a TD. Efficient on limited catches.
Romeo Doubs (DK: 2x, FD: 1.3x)
Led the Packers in targets (9), catching 5 for 55 yards. Solid usage, but no receiver was targeted more than once in the red zone — limiting his ceiling.
11 Personnel: Value WRs for Week 7
Three-WR sets are the league norm, so we’ll follow suit. This week, there’s plenty of positional value out there. If your build needs a low-cost receiver, here are three high-upside plays to consider:
Quentin Johnston
-
DK: $5900
-
FD: $7200
-
Projected Ownership: DK 7.12% | FD 6.45%
He’s healthy, off the injury report, and flying under the radar. Ladd McConkey is picking up steam in the public eye, but QJ has been more effective against single-high looks — which the Colts play over 50% of the time. There’s hidden leverage here.
Luke McCaffrey
-
DK: $4100
-
FD: $5500
-
Projected Ownership: DK 4.68% | FD 4.45%
No Deebo. No Terry. Washington’s receiving room has been torn down and rebuilt on the fly. The upside? They get a Dallas defense that plays Zone on 84% of snaps. Luke is the only one of the three expected starters who performs better vs Zone. Chris Moore is soaking up ownership due to price and matchup, but Luke is where I’m planting my flag.
Marvin Mims
-
DK: $3500
-
FD: $5100
-
Projected Ownership: DK 1.93% | FD 1.6%
Love this spot for Denver. Yes, the London game may take its toll — but the Giants are in a tricky scheduling spot too. They’re coming off an emotional win vs a division rival and now have to travel to Denver before facing that same rival again next week. That’s a classic sandwich game.
As for Mims — he thrives against single-high coverage, which the Giants run frequently. They’re also top 5 in air yards allowed and top 10 in deep throws allowed. Mims is Denver’s clear deep threat. There’s real ceiling here.
In Summary
All three receivers — Johnston, McCaffrey, and Mims — offer strong leverage and serious upside. If you’re building chalky elsewhere, they’re the kind of pivots that can break a slate.
