The premise of each article in this series is to feature starting spots (building blocks) for your lines. These are plays that are cash-viable as well as GPP-worthy and can be considered in all contest formats.
Starting Lineup – February 24
The Goalie: Connor Hellebuyck
Should be the popular goalie on the slate and for good reason: the Jets’ defense is elite and the Sharks’ offense is not (to say nothing of the fact that they’re on the second half of a back-to-back). Hellebuyck (34-7-2 / 2.06 / .925) continued his stellar play in the tournament, and he should be rested enough to get back to the grind of the regular season.
The Center: Jack Eichel
69 points in 56 games and continues to be an elite scoring option.
The Wing: Kyle Connor
Didn’t have the best tournament, but he’s in such a great spot tonight. 30 goals and 70 points in 57 games and averages three and a half shots per contest.
The Defenseman: Alex Pietrangelo
Solid in all situations (he plays all three) and has seen an increase in ice time with Theodore out.
The Value: Raphael Lavoie
Seeing L2 and PP2 time for cheap.
The Stack: VGK (Eichel-Stone-Hertl)
Decent leverage spot on the slate as both defenses are good; the first two are together in all three situations as well.
