DFS NHL Snipes and Grinders for DraftKings and FanDuel 1-7-25

Winter time Tuesday coming up here in the NHL. In-between playoff NFL best-ball drafts hopefully you consider gambling on the NHL. The NHL is growing and the NBA is shrinking via ratings, so come on down to the town of hockey clowns! You win in the NHL DFS landscapes by stacking, so let’s get to it.

Correlated Snipe #1 – Sidney Crosby – Rickard Rakell – Bryan Rust

The Penguins are surging and the Blue Jackets are lingering. This somehow is an important game in the early Eastern Conference playoff race, and the edge goes to Pittsburgh like always. The Jackets are have the most jarring home/away splits in the NHL, and they stink on the road. They also haven’t beaten Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh for like 3000 days or something. Anything can happen in sports, but the math dictates that Columbus will give up some goals here to the Penguins; and when the Penguins are scoring, more often than not, it’s the Crosby line.

Correlated Snipe #2 – Alex Debrincat – Patrick Kane

You can obviously throw in Dylan Larkin, Lucas Raymond, or Moritz Seider in these Detroit stacks; however, I am going with Kane and Debrincat as my main pieces. Kane has been quietly hot as of late, and Debrincat has been fairly consistent as well. The cherry on top here is the revenge narrative Debrincat has against the Senators, where he simply didn’t fit in. Detroit is kind of hot right now as a team, and they are at home in a pond-hockey type matchup where Ottawa’s main goalie Linus Ullmark may still be on the shelf.

Grinders:

Brock Faber – Still cheap and playing a ton of minutes on the top powerplay unit.

Cam Fowler – Same description as Brock Faber, and they’re playing each other.

Brandon Saad – Still a very cheap top line player that is finding his legs and may still be on the top powerplay unit.
