DFS Army's Sean Hoy takes a look at today's NHL Slate for DraftKings and FanDuel.

DFS NHL Snipes and Grinders for DraftKings and FanDuel 1-3-25

Hopefully 2025 hasn’t kicked us in the sack yet and we can keep on trucking through a fun Friday slate of games here. There aren’t many games, but each game is super interesting and volatile. This combination makes it so our domination station at the DFSARMY is that much more dominant. When there is no chalk to filter through, we let our software and databases help mold your fantasy decisions. Well, let’s get to stacking!

Correlated Snipe #1 – Robert Thomas – Pavel Buchnevich – Cam Fowler

The Senators are without Linus Ullmark for their road trip, so the Senators are super exploitable on the second game of a back to back. St Louis is trending upward after that dominant win in the winter classic. These guys are simply in a great spot at home here and are way too cheap on Draftkings. Cam Fowler has fit like a glove since that trade occurred, and he is quarterbacking that powerplay. Not much else to say here other than this stack is checking a lot of boxes for me. If there is chalk on this slate, this might be it.

Correlated Snipe #2 – JT Miller – Brock Boeser – Jake Debrusk

This is a rematch of the first round of the playoffs last year, and the Canucks are full of drama right now. People may shy away with no Quinn Hughes and no Elias Pettersson, but I am diving in here. Boeser is an elite goal scorer in this league, and JT Miller is an absolute horse. The Miller/Pettersson drama is front page stuff, and this is the perfect situation for Miller’s ego to flourish and for him to go full beast mode. People forget that these athletes are human beings with thoughts and feelings, and I am riding this dramatic narrative. Nashville does not scare me, and their defense has some NHL25 created players on it still, so I am putting my chips in here. Also, that Vancouver home crowd is rowdy and should not should be overlooked.

Grinders:

Erik Brannstrom – Still cheap and has looked good with the promotion on the Canucks. With no Hronek or Hughes, the Canucks are strapped thin at defense and Brannstrom has filled the role decently. He is on their top powerplay unit and isn’t afraid to block a shot.

Juraj Slafkovsky – His price never changes, and he will pop off one of these days. Chicago stinks and Slafkovsky is a top liner and top powerplay unit guy for the Canadiens.

Oskar Sundquist – Here is our min-priced punt play of the night. He plays decent minutes, is on the 3rd line, but is slated on the Blues’ top powerplay unit. He is 6’6, so, he must be valued as their net front presence on the powerplay, which is always a decent gamble.
