10 GPP Options Under 10% Owned

Welcome back to another season of 10 Under 10 article here at DFS Army! My name is Josh Thomas (@dfsupnorth), and I love GPP’s, and more importantly I love winning GPP’s. My DFS Motto when it comes to playing contests each week is very similar to famous philosopher Richard Bobby’s quote “If you ain’t first your last” (and it even rhymes with it)

“First or last, I ain’t here to min cash!”

We know through back testing in our Domination Station Optimizer, that winning lineups in the biggest GPP’s almost always have multiple players in their lineup under 10% owned and often even one or two guys sub 5%. Which ones do we play though, because being low owned isn’t enough to get you over the hump, they actually have to be good! This article each week will help you identify 10 players who have GPP winning upside based on all the underlying metrics AND are low owned!

NEW this year, I will have 5 players from Draftkings and 5 players from Fanduel, some might be elite low owned plays on both sites and if they are you can be sure that I’ll note that. I’ll also have a streamer special defense for you to put in to your lineups!

NOTE: Ownership are based on time of writing, I will do my best to update through the week, but injuries could significantly change ownership projections so make sure you are paying attention!

2.68x on Fanduel 2.9x on Draftkings!! We finally had a really solid week, outside of two duds (looking at you Garrett Wilson and Cade Otton!)

It was almost a MASSIVE week but for some reason they decided that Adam Thielen’s 2nd TD wasn’t a catch despite fully having control of the ball while his knee and leg touched down… I’m not salty at all…

Bryce Young was a GPP winner, and Milly Maker Winner on both sites this week, so smashing that is huge. As I always say, you aren’t going to crush it every week but if you can keep your head above water, you’ll have 3-4 spike weeks a year to put you over the top, and last week was most definitely a spike week for me.

One thing to always note though is that, chalk is chalk for a reason. Players that are highly owned are highly owned because they are great plays. What we are looking for is that diamond in the rough that differentiates you from everyone else and brings you to the top of the GPP. Sometimes though, we gotta kiss a few frogs before getting to the princess!

Jalen Hurts QB Philadelphia Eagles

Ownership: 3.83%

Salary: DK $7800

As I’ve said in this article a million times, you don’t come here for me to tell you that the chalk QB’s are  an elite play. You guys know who the studs are and if you look at the DFS Army Chalk Board you can clearly see who the good QB plays are because 90% of the time, QB chalk is good chalk to eat.

That being said, we know from backtesting that low owned QB’s often show up in the Milly Maker winning lineups, especially ones that are in high total games that are somehow going overlooked. Ownership projections are again fairly flat right now among the QB’s so it’s not like ANYONE is a chalk bomb BUT, there are guys trending towards lower ownership that I think have massive upside in this spot and are currently trending towards low single digit ownership.

What I love is when a high priced guy who consistenly hits value….looks to be underowned…and that’s exactly what we have this week in Jalen Hurts.

Hurts and the Eagles are heading home after a two week stretch on the road, and get to go against the awful Carolina Panthers defense that is dead last in points against per game at 30.

Whats intriguing for me here, is that Bryce Young has looked really good the last few weeks and while the Eagles D is tough, he may be able to keep the Panthers in a game, which will force Hurts to keep throwing it.

While we aren’t seeing the tush push as much with Hurts, he still has 12 rushing TD’s on the year to go with 14 passing TD’s. Ceiling is so high given that rushing upside.

Love him solo here, but I just think that AJ Brown absolutely balls out with Dallas Goedert out. Could potentially see Calcaterra being a cheap TE option to help you afford both, but I like some other cheapie TE’s too.

Kyren Williams RB Los Angeles Rams

Ownership: DK 5.14%

Salary: DK $7300

Has finally gotten into the end zone in consecutive weeks for the first time since the beginning of the year.

Bills rush defense has left something to be desired though the return of Milano helps, still Williams yards per carry last of 6.9 is just really incredible.

At home in a game that I expect to be a shoot out, love the volume he’s likely to get and think he finally gets a double dip TD here.

Tyrone Tracy Jr. RB New York Giants

Ownership: DK 9%

Salary: DK $5800

Tyrone Tracy and the Drew Lock led Giants take on the New Orleans Saints at home and will hopefully get a few more carries here.

This offense is just trying to play slow and run the clock out on the season, which bodes well for Tracy, but the concern is that Singletary is there stealing carries too.

Love the price and ownership combo though on a slate that is filled with Chalky RB’s, he makes an intriguing pivot.

Khalil Shakir WR Buffalo Bills

Ownership: 6.47%

Salary: DK $6900.

Love this Bills/Rams game for points and think that Shakir continues his run of great football this season, becoming one of Allen’s favorite targets. Can throw out last week in the snow, but he did still lead the team in targets.

Cheap WR with TD upside in a great game environment. Yes please.

Chig Okonkwo TE Tennessee Titans

Ownership: DK 4.8%

Salary: DK $3000

Love a cheap TE this week and Chig Okonkwo fits the bill for me.

Season high six targets last week and brought in 3 for 27. I don’t expect a 70 yard TD reception like he had two weeks ago, but if he can catch one from Levis in the end zone against the lowly Jags, and he will smash value!

Jameis Wintson QB Cleveland Browns

Ownership: FD 5.57%

Salary: FD $6900

I’m in on Jameis every single week for the rest of the season. You put up 450 in a losing effort against the Broncos on the road? You can put up a fantasy score on anyone. Don’t care if it’s Pittsburgh on the road, or the 85′ Bears. Jameis is going to throw it…a ton.

Get him in your lineups at this price on FD and while I don’t love any of his pair options (Naked Winston!), you could throw Njoku or Elijah Moore in there.

Caleb Williams QB Chicago Bears

Ownership: FD:6.35%

Salary: FD $7300

BobbyWow special… Caleb Williams against the beat up 49ers on the road.

Has put up 25+ points in back to back games and is running it a ton. Hasn’t turned the ball over in forever. Likely gets DJ Moore back. Just checks all the boxes for me this week. Think he’s a sneaky GPP winner here.

Bijan Robinson RB Atlanta Falcons

Ownership: FD 6.52%

Salary: FD $8900

Cousins apparently sucks again so it’s the Bijan Robinson show in Atlanta. Gets to go on the road to take on the Vikings at US Bank Stadium and is going to be the lowest owned of the stud RB’s.

Vikings have been stout against the run, but pass catching backs like Robinson have burned them and I think that we see Checkdown Cousins in full effect here with the raucous crowd and Robinson rack up a bunch of receptions to go with his 15+ carries.

Adam Thielen WR Carolina Panthers

Ownership: FD 1.63%

Salary: FD $5900

Love me some Thielen at this price point. Guys a stud possession receiver, and as expected from the beginning (though it took a while) him and Bryce Young have found a real connection.

Almost had a MONSTER week last week. 1 yard from the 100 yard bonus and had a TD called back. Still had 10 targets though and 9 receptions.

Tough matchup against the Eagles but Thielen at this price should get there on volume alone.

Will Dissly TE Los Angeles Chargers

Ownership: FD 5.11%

Salary: FD: $5100

Been on the Dissly train for weeks now and hopping on again against the Chiefs who have been torched by TE all year.

Had a random dud last week against the Falcons but they didn’t really need to throw the ball (Herbert only had 16 passes) and with McConkey dealing with an injury, it’s likely that we see Dissly get a bunch of targets here.
