DFS NHL Snipes and Grinders for DraftKings and FanDuel - 11/3/24

Crappy slate, it’s NFL Sunday, I get it, I get it. Nonetheless it is my duty to bring the NHL goods to those wanting to grind. Like always, play Alvin Kamara at running back for the Saints. Oh wait, I meant play either Anthony Stolarz or Lukas Dostal as your goalies tonight. We stick to our guns and simply play the best plays on these slates of 4 games or higher. Kaprizov is the overall best player on this slate and should be considered in your cash lineups as he is the early season MVP. So, let’s get to stacking.

Apr 21, 2022; Saint Paul, Minnesota, USA; Minnesota Wild left wing Kirill Kaprizov (97) celebrates a goal in the third period with Minnesota Wild right wing Ryan Hartman (38) and Minnesota Wild right wing Mats Zuccarello (36) against the Vancouver Canucks at Xcel Energy Center. Correlated Snipe #1 – Sebastian Aho – Andrei Svechnikov

These 2 have been on fire this year, and this is a big game in the Metropolitan Division early on. I like the fact that the Canes are at home, and I doubly like the fact that Washington is playing the second game of a back to back with travel. Old man Ovechkin likes his sleep, and he will be sleepy tomorrow. It very simply is a good spot, especially on this gross slate that has very few good spots.

Correlated Snipe #2 – Mason McTavish – Troy Terry – Frank Vatrano

This is actually the Ducks’ 3rd line, however, they are all on that top powerplay unit. You can also throw Olen Zellweger into this stack as the powerplay quarterback of that same unit. The Ducks kind of just roll four lines anyways, so the 3rd line isn’t really a big deal. Their best forwards will play around 17 minutes, and I love the powerplay correlation here. Every single one of these players are cheap as well. I also didn’t even mention that they are at home against the Blackhawks who have been terrible this year. It also doesn’t hurt that they are playing against the Blackhawks backup goaltender who is due to regress. Good spot here to save some salary.

Grinders:

Jonathan Huberdeau – Too cheap for the talent level. He is starting to piece it together again this season. PP1 and is playing 18’ish minutes a night.

Jake McCabe – Too cheap for an over 21 minute a night defenseman that has a high floor due to his shot blocking totals. He also loves to shoot whenever he finds a lane.
