NHL Building Blocks – November 7
Large 12-gamer tonight. How can we get different and how can we lean into the chalk? Let’s dive in!
The premise of each article in this series is to feature starting spots (building blocks) for your lines. These are plays that are cash-viable as well as GPP-worthy and can be considered in all contest formats.
Starting Lineup – November 7
The Goalie: Pyotr Kochetkov
Great spot for Kochetkov (6-1-0 / 2.72 / .878) facing an old and not-efficient Penguins team. Carolina allows the fewest shots on goal (under 24) per game and has the second-highest goal differential in the league (+18), so they should have a great chance for the win at home tonight.
The Center: Matt Duchene
Six goals and six assists during his six-game point streak, and he and the Stars get one of the better matchups on the slate against the Blackhawks. He’ll go a little underowned as well, which will make him nice in tournaments, too.
The Wing: Martin Necas
Unsustainable production during his seven-game point streak (six goals and 11 assists), but the Penguins are bad and he’s hot, so let’s go back to him tonight.
The Defenseman: Cale Makar
As of now, he’s likely to play, and that’s good for the Avs as they face possibly the best team in the league this season, so they’ll want the league’s second-leading scorer (23 points in 13 games with at least a point in every contest) who plays all three situations.
The Value: Evan Rodrigues
A little too cheap considering he skates L1 with Reinhart/Barkov and also sees PP2 time; the Panthers have won five in a row and eight of 10, and the Preds played last night, so he’ll have a bit higher upside in this one as well.
The Stack: MIN (Kaprizov-Zuccarello-Rossi)
The Wild are looking good this season and they get the best matchup on the slate facing the lowly Sharks. 15 goals between them; mix in Eriksson Ek and Boldy for additional power play correlation.
