NHL Building Blocks – November 4
Two games tonight to start our week. The plays are few and far between, so how best can we attack these two contests? Let’s dive in!
The premise of each article in this series is to feature starting spots (building blocks) for your lines. These are plays that are cash-viable as well as GPP-worthy and can be considered in all contest formats.
Starting Lineup – November 4
The Goalie: Jacob Markstrom
Might have the best ability on the slate to grab a victory tonight as even though the Oilers traditionally have a high-upside offense, they’ve been sputtering all season (just 27 goals in 11 games) and are currently without Connor McDavid. He’s having a great first season in New Jersey (5-4-1 / 2.62 / .907) and he’s got a strong offense in front of him facing a bad defense.
The Center: Nico Hischier
Still tied for the league lead in goals with 10 and is looking phenomenal this season.
The Wing: Alex Laferriere
He’s got eight goals in 11 games this season and is going to have some solid upside at a reduced price over some of the other wings.
The Defenseman: Roman Josi
With his floor (a goal and six assists in 12 games to go along with 49 shots and 20 blocks), he’s almost a lock on this two-gamer.
The Value: Stefan Noesen
Price is finally starting to creep up a bit, but he’s underpriced for his production (seven goals and five assists through 14 games) and that he’s still seeing PP1 time.
The Stack: NJ (Hughes-Hischier-Bratt-Meier)
Mix and match these four for even strength and PP correlation (and mix in some Hamilton and Noesen). New Jersey averages over three and a half goals per game.
