DFS NHL Building Blocks for DraftKings and FanDuel - November 3

NHL Building Blocks – November 3

Let’s dive in!

The premise of each article in this series is to feature starting spots (building blocks) for your lines.  These are plays that are cash-viable as well as GPP-worthy and can be considered in all contest formats.

Starting Lineup – November 3
The Goalie:
Lukas Dostal
Bit of an odd choice perhaps, but the matchup makes some sense as the Blackhawks don’t have the best offense and Dostal has actually been very solid this season (4-2-2 / 1.99 / .945), and the Ducks are at home in this one.

The Center: Connor Bedard
Good floor in most matchups as the offense drives through him, and he’s got nine points through 11 games (and is averaging three and a half shots per game).  Anaheim allows the most shots per game (over 35) in the league, so he and the Blackhawks should have opportunities all over.

The Wing: Kirill Kaprizov
Kap has really stepped up his game to the point where he’s completely come into into the superstar level, registering 21 points (including 10 goals) in Minnesota’s first 10 games (and he’s got points in seven straight), and the Leafs are on the second half of a road back-to-back.  Great spot for him in this one.

The Defenseman: Rasmus Andersson
Leading the team in scoring with 11 points and sees time in all three situations; he also averages three blocks and close to a shot and a half per game.  Solid floor and has some upside against an Oilers team that can score and that doesn’t play a ton of defense.

The Value: Max Pacioretty
Good exposure to both stud pairings (L2 with Nylander/Tavares and PP1 with Matthews/Marner) for cheap.

The Stack: MIN (Kaprizov-Eriksson Ek-Zuccarello-Faber)
Mix and match this quartet as they correlate together very well in all three situations.  The Leafs’ offense has great upside, but they’re also playing in a back-to-back, so these four will have a ton of moments both offensively and defensively.
