DFS NHL Building Blocks for DraftKings and FanDuel - November 19

NHL Building Blocks – November 19

Another really nice-sized slate tonight of seven games.  Let’s dive in!

The premise of each article in this series is to feature starting spots (building blocks) for your lines.  These are plays that are cash-viable as well as GPP-worthy and can be considered in all contest formats.

Starting Lineup – November 19
The Goalie
: Andrei Vasilevskiy
Vas (8-5-1 / 2.15 / .920) has been pretty solid this season, and even though the Bolts are on the road, they’re facing an old and slow Penguins squad averaging two and a half goals per game with a -24 goal differential (and he has a very good offense in front of him).

The Center: Aleksander Barkov
Barkov has three goals and 13 assists during his eight-game point streak, and they get a rematch with the Jets who they blew out last game; even though Winnipeg is defensively very good, that didn’t seem to matter last time, so I don’t mind going right back to them tonight.  He sees time in all three situations as well, which raises his floor.

The Wing: Nikita Kucherov
Kuch has a seven-game point streak (three goals and nine helpers during) and is tied for sixth in the league in scoring.  Pittsburgh is old and not good, so he should be able to do whatever he wants in this one.

The Defenseman: Quinn Hughes
The reigning Norris winner will be needed in both ends tonight as the Canucks host the Rangers.  He’s leading the team in scoring and plays well over 24 minutes a night.

The Value: Ryan Hartman
Slides up onto PP1 due to injuries; good spot against a bad Blues team.

The Stack: TB (Kucherov-Guentzel-Cirelli)
The Lightning also get a Penguins team trotting out perhaps the worst goalie in the league this season in Tristan Jarry (a 5.36 GAA and .847 save percentage and who is making his first start since a “conditioning” stint in the minors).  Even without Point, they’re in a good spot to go off (and if he’s in, I like them even more); these three are L1/PP1 together, and you can mix in Hedman and Paul as secondary pieces.
