NHL Building Blocks – November 10
Three games to end the week, and we’ve got a couple of elite offenses facing a couple of bad defenses. Where can we go to get what we need? Let’s dive in!
The premise of each article in this series is to feature starting spots (building blocks) for your lines. These are plays that are cash-viable as well as GPP-worthy and can be considered in all contest formats.
Starting Lineup – November 10
The Goalie: Jake Allen
Best matchup on the slate against a bad Sharks team. He’s been solid (3-1-1 / 2.60 / .904) as the Devils’ backup, and he gets a good matchup here today as well.
The Center: Nico Hischier
Tied for second in the league with 10 goals and will have ample opportunities to add to that in this one.
The Wing: Kirill Kaprizov
Can’t go wrong with playing the league’s leading scorer who’s taken that final step to superstar status (as if he wasn’t already there).
The Defenseman: Jake Walman
Averaging nearly three shots on goal and two blocks per game, Walman will be needed against one of the best offenses in the league; he leads the team in ice time and has nine points (eight helpers) in 13 games.
The Value: Frederick Gaudreau
Two goals and six assists during his six-game point streak and may go a little overlooked as he’s the L3 center (though he does get PP2 time).
The Stack: NJ (Hischier-Hughes-Bratt)
These three are PP1 and they face a Sharks team that allows nearly four goals per game on the third most shots per, and this offense has 58 goals in 16 games with a 28.6% power play. Mix in Noesen and Meier for secondary correlation.
