DFS NHL Building Blocks for DraftKings and FanDuel – November 1

NHL Building Blocks – November 1

The first day of November brings us a nice-sized slate of five games, so let’s figure out where we can eat the chalk and where we can get some leverage.  Let’s dive in!

The premise of each article in this series is to feature starting spots (building blocks) for your lines.  These are plays that are cash-viable as well as GPP-worthy and can be considered in all contest formats.

Starting Lineup – November 1
The Goalie:
Connor Hellebuyck
Perhaps the best matchup on the slate against the Blue Jackets (who actually have been scoring somewhat), Hellebuyck has been one of if not the best goalie so far this season (7-1-0 / 2.12 / .932) for perhaps the best team in the league to date.  Road matchup, but solid in all formats.

The Center: Nico Hischier
Tied for the league lead in goals with 10 (including goals in four straight games) and is playing the best hockey of his career.

The Wing:  Kyle Connor
Nine goals and eight assists (and points in all 10 games so far this season) and is in a good matchup against the Blue Jackets.

The Defenseman: Zach Werenski
One of the most underrated defensemen in the league and in a matchup where he’ll be needed; eight points in nine games and seeing just under 25 minutes a night.

The Value: Will Cuylle
Cuylle is priced up a bit on FD ($5000), but he’s still just $2600 on DK, which is a little crazy considering he’s got eight points in nine games (tied for second on the team with Trocheck, Lafreniere, and Fox), and the Senators continue to be not that good defensively.

The Stack: NYR1 (Panarin-Trocheck-Lafreniere)
12 goals in nine games for this trio, and they’re in a pace-up matchup at home.  Great spot for this line.
