A lot of games today, and Tuesdays are often big days in the NHL landscape for some reason. There aren’t really a lot of exciting games on this slate in all honesty, so we have to stick with our basic strategies to pull is through.
Correlated Snipe #1 – Connor McDavid – Zach Hyman
These guys have to break through at some point, and the longer their drought, the lower owned they will be. McDavid is the best player in the world and he will break the slate at some point, and when he does, we’ll want to have him. The Flyers are a scrappy team, but their blueline and goaltending do not scare me one bit. We are chasing that ceiling at lesser ownership here and living with the results. Regardless of the outcome, these guys are a good game theory play.

Correlated Snipe #2 – Roope Hintz – Jason Robertson
The Stars have looked good to start the season, but have not scored a ton of goals yet. I think that changes against a Sharks team that has pretty bad defenders. Also, the Sharks goaltending is nothing to right home about. Robertson breaks the slate about 3 or 4 times a year, and when it happens, we want it. The Stars never garner big ownership, and this is a spot we would always want.
Grinders:
Sean Monahan – Way too cheap for a top center that also is on the top powerplay unit. Plays around 20 minutes a night and has looked great doing it. It is the Blue Jackets home opener, and you best believe that Monahan will be ready to make Johnny Gaudreau proud.
Kent Johnson – Still the same price on Draftkings. A goal in each of the first 2 games. 20 minutes a night to start, and is on the top powerplay unit.
Travis Sanheim – Super cheap and a super high floor. Look at those fantasy points without even recording a real hockey point.
