DFS NHL Snipes and Grinders for DraftKings and FanDuel - 10/14/24

Weird slate of NHL games tonight with 3 early games and 3 regularly timed games. There are going to be goals a-plenty in these games, so whoever guesses the goalie position correctly will win the prize. Personally I think whoever the Avalanche start in net will at least get the win bonus. The Avalanche are angry and have a great chance of righting the ship. Also, with their main guys being so expensive, and their matchup being not the greatest, the goalie may be all we need from that game.

Correlated Snipe #1 – Artemi Panarin – Vincent Trocheck

These guys are the main guys of the NYR. When the Rangers play at MSG in front of their home fans, they get a real boost. Detroit may have had a shutout in their last game against the Predators, but in general that isn’t going to be common for the Red Wings. I think that the Wings are very soft defensively, and that all of their goalies leave a bit to be desired. Panarin has had back to back huge point totaled seasons, and Trocheck has shown great chemistry with him. Alexis Lafreniere could also be paired with them in stacks, as well as Adam Fox who quarterbacks that Ranger powerplay. Jacob Trouba also has a high floor as he can get all of bonuses on DK. There are a lot of ways to mix and match the stacks here, but Panarin/Trocheck is the main way to go.

Correlated Snipe #2 – Nick Suzuki – Juraj Slafkovsky – Cole Caufield

The Canadiens have been a pleasant surprise to start this NHL season, and now they see the Penguins who can’t stop a beech ball. The Canadiens also get a true bump at home at the Bell Center, which is just a different beast of an atmosphere. These 3 young studs also correlate on the top powerplay unit, and have looked great to start the year. Cole Caufield may actually flirt with 50 goals this year. Love the matchup and price-points here on such a small slate.

Grinders:

Lane Hutson – 4 points in his first 3 games this season. Cheap defenseman to go with Montreal stacks.

Simon Edvinsson – Still the stone-min on Draftkings. There are better defenseman options in DFS tonight, but Edvinsson can do a little bit of everything for you, and has a high floor.

Maxim Tsyplakov – This NHL25 created player has an important top 6 role with the Islanders that features on the PP1. He is playing over 18 minutes a night as a forward, and scored in his NHL debut the other night.
